Alright, so do you all know that one Gilded Eyefolk thread I made? (bountys still on the table even though the hunt is ruined) Turns out there's also some other mysteries that were also in the game. So here are a list of some of them that are yet to be solved. I won't be posting any bounties here, btw, mainly cuz I don't want people with malicious intent to fake finding them for rewards.

this mystery has been ruined by an asshole looking for meaningless internet points, its at loot symposium, 2.5 stx are on the line. that's basically it. shame this hunt has been ruined but unfortunately it is what it is.

Solved Mysteries (keeping it here cuz these were neat)

Lost Eye - a former scrapped mob of tna, it has a small chance to replace the chiropterror miniboss in the guiding light room.

Prof Boss - It has a rare chance to spawn from a geode in the toxic wastes. It's called the Refusal of Death and are based on Atropals from dnd (look the latter up at your own discretion, it does have some sensitive topics regarding childbirth).

Void Altar - Bring a Psionic Quill item (doesn't have to be your own you can get it from the tm) to the altar and it will turn into a Voidblown Quill. You can bring the quill to the Hoarder for neat lore.

Secondary Void Altar Secret - Bring the bracelet Follow the Wind to the Void Altar for some dialogue. It must be equipped to trigger the dialogue.

Battle for the Bonfire Secrets - If you hold more than the maximum amount of runes you are allowed to carry in your inventory, then a chat message will play alongside with some item lore of the rune counting down. Once it reaches 0, a unique chat message will play alongside with the wynnic numbers changing into runes. All messages and runes have been completed, but there could be something else left to find.

RIP Gilded Eyefolk

 

From a couple Battle for the Bonfire games I just played, here are the current Wynnic lores on the runes:

• Adrenaline: 9
• Halting: 7
• Shadows: 4
• Ascension: "UTHTOL"

These didn't change between games. Since the Ascension rune was the one that was already partway through its countdown a few days ago, it seems like when they hit zero they change from numbers to a combination of runes (Az/Nii/Uth/Tol/Ek).

My guess is that the numbers are being counted down based on how many of that type of rune have been used across the whole server. Ascension being the fastest to finish makes sense in that case (since each item gives five uses), as does Adrenaline being the slowest, since it seems like the rarest (at least in my experience). That's assuming the lores are global and not player-specific though, so someone else could confirm or deny that

I also brought a bunch of Uth and Tol runes into the arena after translating the Ascension lore just in case, but that didn't change anything.

 

Apparently the countdown's not server-wide and it's instead client-side. Some runes seem to have easier countdown triggers, notably the rune of ascension (mines currently at 3). My adrenaline is lower though, so if I had to guess it might be a hidden attribute (maybe for ascension its amount of total height jumped, halting is total people halted, shadows could be how many people were killed when in the shadow state, and adrenaline could be blocks traveled (it could be a large amt though, maybe it counts down every kilometer traveled))

 

Ok folks we have solved the secondary Void Altar secret.

Spoiler: How to solve

Bring the bracelet Follow the Wind to the Void Altar while it is equipped.. A line of dialogue will play out.

You forgot Mysterious Egg from the heart of decay (I think)

 

That currently has nothing related to it afaik. I would put off on that until some update.

 

Wait, what happened with the Gilded Eyefolk?

 

A guy on discord managed to make a pretty convincing image of the Gilded Eyefolk that just so happened to be where it actually was. There were two major red flags that somewhat revealed the fake:
1. the account just joined this discord and it was its first message
2. The Gilded Eyefolk's level is 110, not 105
Technically the fact the rare mob tag wasnt added to the nametag couldve been a red flag but it wasn't on live yet. Deus, caught in all the excitement of that hunt finally being solved did confirm that is where it was, but when the guy posted an image of how it was faked, she got so pissed she abandoned the hunt entirely, which I can't blame her for, it was an incredibly cheap method to get us closer to finding the thing. If I had to say at least 2 things that are somewhat the benefits of the doubt, the guy faking the image didn't do it for the bounty, which thank god it was just a troll looking for meaningless internet points (even if it ruined the hunt) and not someone with more malicious intentions (that would have ruined it even more), and the guy might not have expected the fallout that would ensue as a result of this. As I mentioned before in the thread, this is the exact reason why I'm never going to include a bounty for anything ever again for any community events to prevent anyone with malicious intent faking a solution and escaping with the money.

 

Does the suspicious egg reset if you stack it and have 2 when you get it again?

 

I don't think it can even stack cuz it'd probs have different nbt tags (someone please correct me if im wrong)

 

Nope I got 2 when I had the egg and I was exploring it again on another class. They were in the same slot

 

I've done more BftB games since my last post but the Wynnic text hasn't changed on any of the runes so far.

Is the "UTHTOL" final text on Runes of Ascension the same for everybody? If so, maybe we can get the full sequence by comparing between players rather than testing individually. Anyone who've managed to count down any of the other runes should post em in here

 

Enderclaw also got some progress into decreasing the countdown. His Halting rune is at 1 and his Shadow rune is at 2. It says UTHTOL for the ascension rune, but it also says EKUTH for the adrenaline rune. It also plays this line of dialogue when you get the countdown to 0 for the adrenaline rune:
"The rune crackles and vanishes in a flash. You feel a surge of energy." Bc his other 2 runes are so low, this definitely does mean that we are pretty close to solving the secret.

 

Me and Enderclaw recently got the rest of the runes and chat messages, so the Battle for the Bonfire runes are complete, although I feel like there could be more left to the mystery. For now, though, it's marked as solved until its confirmed theres more content regarding the runes. This also means we're down to one secret left... the one that got ruined... the Gilded Eyefolk... yippee.
