The Mythic Everlasting Pufferfish (underice)

I did everything up to the part where I needed the pufferfish, so when I threw in the bait the pufferfish appeared, I killed it, but when it dropped to the bottom of the docks, it disappeared. I couldn't find it and I repeatedly threw in more bait, everything happened except the pufferfish the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th times afterward I tried to get the pufferfish.
Is it already with me? Do I just speak to Calamaro or Gerald to give them the fish? (Actually, i already spoke to Gerald and he said the same thing, that my best bet was to get the bait at the woodcutter place and then blah blah blah.)

I'm going to try and do it from another server because i just thought of that -- Nope it didn't work.

 

If I remember this right, I think you're supposed to give the mythical puffer fish to either Gerald or Calamaro, not throw it into the water.

 

I didn't throw it into the water, I threw the bait into the water and when I tried to get the puffer fish it sank to the bottom and vanished.

 

Oh, that is a common issue. Just collect up about 5 of the baits and try it again until you can kill the puffer fish mob before it goes into the water.
