The Higher Than Average Amount Of Players On Wynn?

This is actually something positive, but why are they 800+ players on Wynn currently? Is there an event I'm missing out on? This only happens when a update comes out but now it's just natural, also is there any way to increase the Wynn playerbase? It's rather small compared to other servers, probably because it isn't in the minigame category

 

I think because holidays/hero beta or they think the update is coming right now

 

Christmas passed and the HERO Beta only has like 7 players on it

 

Well, it is the weekend currently and the announcement of an upcoming update has brought some people back to Wynn, even if the update itself isn't out yet.

 

I don't know why, but I have a feeling an unofficial wynnfair is playing behind my back, also why doesn't Grian talk about Wynncraft on his channel anymore? He did talk about it in 3 videos before but that was before his peak popularity, now he's on HermitCraft and gets half a million views on his vids, telling them about his server would give a fair share of players joining Wynn, not to mention the other server he owns mc.grian.net

 

Because his youtube channel audience is not the same that would appeal to Wynncraft. Also I feel he might think it would be annoying for his audience to advertise a server he owns.

Yes we're trying to find Shots we've got no clue where tf he is.
He might be hiding in the void again and we've sent our best players to spam tf outta healing while falling down the void to try and keep up with him.
Unfortunately, they all seem to have died.

How would that be annoying? The server needs more people and the entire video wouldn't just be advertising it, maybe some info on it or explaining us 1.18 and the new systems it serves, also not appealing wynncraft? Seems kinda dumb not to help Grian make some more money off his server than just selling giant heads of himself

Yeah I don't want Wynn to just crash and burn up like that, it REALLY needs some popularity from his channel

 

Take it as this.

So you go to your favorite youtube channel of fps games and stuff. You like his stuff, his content is nice and he has a nice British accent. One day, in the middle of his youtube channel of a fps game, he starts advertising about a game he made, no sponsor at all. You think, huh, that's kind of nice and ignore the ad because the game's genre of puzzle doesn't fit your tastes of fps. Some people join the game, with some staying, however most playing for a short while and dropping it because they like fps games, not puzzle. He keeps doing this every so videos or so. However, there is a breaking point people will start labeling him as annoying from taking away from his content just to advertise a game they don't want to play.

Also, there is also the possibility Grian himself doesn't want to be labeled as a sellout who constantly sponsors SQUARESPACE, AUDIBLE, NORD VPN or doesn't want to himself.

 

I think Grian is afraid that his channel will turn out like Crafted Movie if he starts advertising Wynn a lot, because as we know, when Crafted Movie started putting more and more Wynncraft trailers on it, the channel got less popular.

Also, iirc, the majority of Grian’s audience is children, and with quests in the game like Shattered Minds and Memory Paranoia, some things in Wynn aren’t really appropriate for young kids. Not to mention that most kids won’t understand the element system and the upcoming crafting system

 

Wynn isn't a game and the viewers don't control the content, Grian can post what he wishes but he's the only one in the wynncraft staff that has a big channel and he won't always talk about Wynn, he'll make a very small amount of videos about them as he used to do, and now he isn't really interested on working on this project and taking most of his time pouring it into his channel, also how is playing a game that "some" viewers are not interested in rip his channel apart? Whatever advertisements he needs are needed for running the channel, not sure if he pours much into wynn as it isn't his main source of money, but wynn is losing its players and its community isn't dead, but just starting to become a bit barren and lost

Um, Grian played Sea Of Thieves without much consequences, also he may occasionally shove a "damn" or "hell" so Grian may have some higher ages and think about it, the quests you mentioned may have a few splashed of blood and things and it's really just the community that minuses the "child" part of wynn, also Shattered Minds may be like you're on drugs or something, but to be honest you can even see that in a kids movie if you will (The Good Dinosaur) anyway, it isn't necessary for Grian to do this but I mean seriously, look at Hytale, it's already advertising its game on youtube for it not even being released

 

First - shattered minds is not ‘may’ be on drugs, the entire plot is that you go on those mushrooms and start seeung things.
Next, Hytale is advertising because Hytale has its own channel dedicated to just hytale. So does Wynn btw.

Honestly, leave this up to Grian. He has his own opinions on this, and he must have some proper reason for not advertising something to make him more money. And remember that while the game itself is child-friendly, the community... not so much. Non-child safe subjects are brought up constantly, I mean just look at the ‘Build Server Chat’ thread.

 

That's basically just another version of my summary but whatever, and yes I know Wynn's community don't seem to be the most nicest people of all time, wish that could change but I suppose Salted may have to stay just a bit salty

 

In my opinion a server like Wynn can never die, there's so much work put in it and I think it's one of the best MMORPG's ever made. We might not have hundreds of thousands of players playing the game, but the server is not dying. Wynncraft has always had 300-800 players playing it and when the new update comes we'll have lots of new content. I also remember one of the mods saying 1.18 would be better than the Gavel update, so I'm not worried at all. The only thing that would be nice is more people like Mr Sebbelonien and Hippie (when they were still uploading a lot), more attention for Wynn wouldn't hurt.
