Community Event The Great Lore Hunt: Volume 1

Hello all! I am going to announce an idea I had before I joined the forums, which hopefully will be in action soon.

It's called the Great Lore Hunt. The basic idea is a group of people doing a two hour lore Hunt all over a certain area, finding all the details of the area. I think this will be a great opportunity to do some lore work. And the area for this Hunt will be... THE RAGNI PLAINS.

Before we get into the logistics, I want to say two important things.

1. If you want to come after reading the rest of this thread, vote in the poll above.

2. The Ragni Plains area includes Maltic, Katoa Ranch, Nivla, and the Pigmens Ravines.

So, logistics!

WHEN: On the 22nd of February at 14:30 GMT - thats British time. It will take two hours approximately.

WHERE: We will meet in the basement of the Item Identifier on the Emerald Trail.

WHO: Any level, because the Ragni Plains are pretty safe. Above lvl 10 recommended for your safety.

HOW: Vote in the poll above so I know how many people are coming.

WHAT: Certain people will be tasked with locations. We could do with 16 to 24 people. That boils down to roughly:

2 or 3 people for Ragni
1 or 2 for Emerald Trail
2 or 3 for Sewers and Katoa - 1 does dungeon
2 or 3 for Maltic and surrounds
3 or 4 for Nivla
1 or 2 for peninsula near Ragni
2 or 3 for the Pigmens Ravines
3 or 4 for Time Valley

TOTAL is 16-24
We can make do with less, but the more the merrier. If we have over 30 people, though, please do not come. If you really want to, comment on my profile.


You do not have to have any lore experience to help. Just record what you see and report back after two hours.

ANOTHER EDIT: On the day, people will be assigned an area. If you are hunting unofficially, you need to contact me to let me know what area you are hunting in, if you have not done so already.

This is only recommended, but it would be helpful if you could do this. Screenshots aren't necessary, and NEVER think something is too significant to be of use. Even the names of mobs are helpful sometimes!

I would join but it would be early morning Arizona time, so Ill just, like unofficially scout the area on Feb 22 and report back even without a group.

 

Thank you anyway! I get that the time is inconvenient for some people, but it's unavoidable - sorry for the inconvenience. If you wouldn't mind, the best place to search would be Nivla. Don't bother with secret discoveries like the four towers, but travel and keep your eyes open. Even if you don't find anything, tell me in my profile.

You mean every player make a thread for himself ? You're just going to make a big part of the community mad if it spams like that (honestly, if everybody post their findings, we will most likely see shitposts ...), you should better create a Discord to gather all the informations and do a thread that resume every informations found.

Pros :
- Every informations gathered.
- No spam
- Pre-treatment for the informations (Important informations pointed out, useless informations taken out.)

Cons :
- Can't find any

(Maybe I just misunderstood, but that's how that sentence sound.)

EDIT : I'm starting to imagine 24 threads "GLHRP Username", oh god it scares me.

Hello guys! I see there are 10 people who might be there! This is great for only two days. Remember that the date of the actual hunt is quite a while away, so unless you have permission from me (a couple of people do for various reasons), please don't search the area.

Will you post your findings on wiki? The lore is pretty outdated there.

 

I dont know if I have the time to be there. Btw why Ragni Plains? Isnt it a really well explored part of wynn?

That's OK. Come if you can, but real life takes precedent to Minecraft.
Why Ragni Plains? Well, I think the people who explore Ragni and thereabouts are newbies with not much idea of lore. Anyone above level 25 has no real reason to go back there, and sadly many don't.

From having explored nearly every inch of the places you've marked on the wynncraft map, I can tell you there isn't much to find around the areas. I'd say, places like SE, MH, SI or even CotL are much better areas to explore for easter eggs, lore points etc. I know by changing the location to a much higher location will eliminate lower level players, but I can assure you, low level areas don't have much to explore.

 

*ahem* half the wynncraft map was rebuilt in 1.18, literally 95% of Wynn was rebuilt
