SPOILER The Great Lore Hunt Sewers And Katoa

Overview

For the Lore hunt, I have been assigned Katoa Ranch and the Ragni Sewers. I will split this thread into two sections, Katoa, and the Sewers.



Ragni Sewers

This segment will be covering the Sewers and everything south of it till Ragni.

Quests

The Sewers of Ragni

The quest takes place near decrepit sewers where you try to destroy a blockage in the sewers. You find wither head in here and allows you to run the decrepit sewers.

A Hero's Origin

In the year 854 AP (After Portal), a massive horde of undead lead by Bak'al attacked Ragni. The people of the city sought refuge in the sewer, the only safe place left.

Stuff I Found

Cave of Mage’s remains



In this cave, there is Rattling Mage Remains and Crumbling Mage Remains

There is also some water on the side which look like they have been made that way from the magic

Little Watch Tower



A little Watchtower with hay bales on the top no NPC’s inside Not Important

Maybe an Olmic Building



Looks like an Olmic structure or just something destroyed in the Corruption wars

Something everyone sees when in the dungeon but it looks like the .”,’ could mean something

Part of Tunnel Trouble

This is a quest where you try to stop a blockage inside an abandoned tunnel to Ragni a part of the quest has you helping a Bovemist named Drale save some cows from the ranch and sending them to gavel.

Bak'al's Destruction 3

Just the name of Bak'al is enough to make many cower in fear. They say that wherever he appears, he will only leave death in his wake.

Drale’s Cow House



This could mean that Drale could be an actual cow or just people thought he was

Has a little hole that leads out of Katoa’s walls

This is probably where Drale saves the Cows most the time

The Houses are for Delny, Elmis, Drale, and Etus

Cave?



The Cave is full of Larkster Pirates

It is located right under Katoa

It has ships that are cut it half it looks like

There is a wall with a sign that says “Plans”

There is a Cook, apartments, and a Crab fight area

This is shown as a Cave on the Wynnforums map and Wynntils map yet I can't find any tier 3 or tier 4 chest to make it a cave

Well Of The Dead



There are skulls at the bottom of this well on the side it is near a peacefull little house

 

Great! Keep exploring and see what you can find! The goal here is to obtain as many hidden secrets and lore as possible, so make your time count!

 

Drale's cow house was something from an old quest called "Confused Farmer" which was replaced by tunneling trouble in 1.17. In the quest the farmer guy bought Drale while he was drunk thinking he was a cow, and Drale later escapes the farm creating the hole in the barn. The player is then tasked to find Drale near Detlas where we learn the Drale is a villager and not a cow. The player then has to go back to the farmer and explain how Drale was not cow as the farmer thought he was after treating him as such for quite some time but a villager. I don't think this is canon anymore since they haven't really updated Katoa recently and the quest was removed but nice find!

 

Quick info for you:

No building made with or containing wood is of Olmic creation. Anything made of wood would have rotted if it were real life, so the builds can’t include it.

The symbol in Decrepit Sewers is a battered version of Ragni’s old symbol. Look for images from pre-1.17 I believe.

Thanks for hunting! The idea of making a thread to report findings was changed but keep adding to this thread anyway!

 

Remember, they knew time magic. If some of that magic residue exists, it may be slowing down the decay of said structure, though I agree it most likely is not Olmic.

Keep in mind in the quest that was replaced by Deja Vu that Asher says that time itself moves slower in the Valley, but ever since its removal this shred of info was never spoken of again

The crab cave before the 1.18 update was a techanaclly a easter egg cave, if you went there before 1.18 hit, the mobs that would spawn would be grain, jumla and maybe salted, zombie like, if you go in drales cutscene you still can see old cave.
