SPOILER The Giant Rat's True Identity

Remember the Giant Rat? For those of you who don't know, the Giant Rat a mob that many old players had memed about since most of them would die trying to get past the Giant Rat.

However, the Giant Rat was removed in 1.17 when the quest involving it was removed.

BUT! The Giant Rat was introduced back in 1.18 right under Farmer Cevalus' farm.



When 1.19 came out, the quest, "Misadventure on the Sea" was introduced.

And in that quest lays our favorite cutie,

The Colossal Rat.



But who are they? Where did they come from? Why does it seek to chew us into bits?



The Giant Rat

With the numerous memes that spawned from the Giant Rat, what can we analyze from here?

First of all, let's take a look at why it killed so many people.

Before 1.17, the Giant Rat was a Lv. 5 silverfish mob in a Lv. 2 quest. It was deemed as "nigh unkillable" at level, and many new players fell victim to it [1].

Well, what did it do to the new players? Although I was not there during its reign, I suspect that many players might have quit upon having to deal with the Giant Rat. Thus, their bodies would pile up around where they died.

Do you remember what rats do when they see food? They bring it home and eat it.

So what does this have to do with bodies? The Giant Rat ate these bodies.

And it got big.

So big that it had to be removed in 1.17 or it would start attacking higher leveled players.

In 1.18, the Giant Rat came back. How did it come back? Due to its immense size, it might have potentially ate its way into the server and spawned back.

It no longer spawned back in the farm however. It now lives in a cave underneath the farm [1].



The Colossal Rat

Before 1.19 came out, the Colossal Rat was teased in the 1.19 trailer here:



Many people became hyped to kill the Colossal Rat. But where did it come from?

Compare the Colossal Rat and the Giant Rat. Notice any similarities?



The Colossal Rat is the offspring of the Giant Rat.

Ok, how did this massive, colossal-sized Colossal Rat came from the Giant Rat?



Remember the bodies?



Oh.



It turns out, the Giant Rat ate so many bodies that during 1.17, despite popular opinion that it was removed, it ate its way out of the server and hibernated. When 1.18 came out, it ate its way back into the server and just sat there.

And produced the Colossal Rat.

So in that case, the Giant Rat is a female right? For the purposes of pride month, let's define it as a she.

Then how did she reproduce?



Remember that in 1.17, the Giant Rat escaped the server. What do you think she did?

She did not just hibernate...

She went to mate in real life. With other giant rats of similar size.

Then that raises the question, what gender is the Colossal Rat? Well, since there is a 50:50 chance for either a male or female and we don't have any concrete evidence of visually determining its gender, let's just call them they for now. Or pansexual I guess.



The Giant Rat's True Intentions

Ok so now we know that the Giant Rat can reproduce. So how do we stop her?

One answer.



You can't.



Why?

First of all, she respawns every time you attempt to kill her. And she get's angrier on each respawn.

And lastly, she seeks for world dominance under her Colossal Rat army.

Second, the players summon them.

Third, the Colossal Rat eats the enemies to deal damage.

When players are offline or quit, the Colossal Rats meet up with the Giant Rat.

The Giant Rat assembles the Colossal Rats.

When it is time, the Colossal Rats attack players. Numbering in the millions.

Wrong, the Giant rat is an inferior lifeform to the colossal rat.

The colossal rat is a genuinely difficult boss at level and kills a lot more players than the Giant Rat, so it is stronger. However, their purpose is to feed the Hypercolossal Rat.

What is the Hypercolossal rat, you ask? Well, it's the cosmic god. When the rats kill a player, they travel to space to feed their master. The Hypercolossal rat will come down to the planet soon, and it will eradicate the Razorouse species.

They should make a level 105 quest where you investigate some Ragni farmer’s rat problem and one rat messes up, allowing you to find this massive maze like network of tunnels going all throughout the world. This place is full of rat based traps and stuff you have to avoid. Then, right at the center of it all, is this rat cult surrounded by dead bodies trying to summon Hypercolossal, and then you fight a ton of high level rats to stop them.

 

We all know giant rat is another form of the Dern beast
