The Fallow Up Update

So this is half rant half question asking, so if you thought this was gonna be an actual theory or something, leave now. If you like seeing my get pissed and emotional, grab some popcorn, you are in for a ride.

Ok, the fallow up update. We all know it's coming. But do we have any idea when? Like I am not angry that it's not out, I understand things take time, I am a bit annoyed that we lack info.

When is it coming out? We don't know. It would be nice to have at least a tiny bit of a time frame. Like "We don't know, but we are hoping some time in April". Even just something like that would be nice.

Now why do we care so much? Cuz Gavel is fantastic, and it gave a bunch of answers. But it gave us a hella ton more questions! And this ain't even the problem. When we have questions we make theories to try to come up with the answers.

What pisses us off is the fact that we don't have enough info to even make theories.

Like who is this Ragnar guy? Oh, I guess we will have to wait for the fallow up updates.
What's with the Dwarves and the Doguns? Oh, I guess we wait for the update.
What's with the realm of light and Desolation? Wait for update.
What's with the devourers? Wait for update.
What's with the cosmic magic and meteors that we start to see in Purple and Blue? Wait for update.
What's with the Angels always fighting each other in the sky islands? Wait for update
What's with the sky raiders in the sky islands? Update waiting time!
What's with Ancient Rodroc, what's that all about? Wait for update.
What's with dragons, and why do we find so many eggs, bones, and dragonlings? Update!!!!!!

Do you see my point? Cuz I cant rant on much longer if you want.

My point is, we are waiting for SO MANY THINGS that all rely on the fallow up update, and we don't even know when that is. We were told a few months after Gavel's release, but come on. We really need something to chew on in the mean time. Even if it is just a month of release.

So yeah. I did not want to get all angry or what not, but yeah. That's about it.

So reflecting on this thread a few days later I was being stupid. I was in a VERY bad mood when I made it, like REALLY bad, and I posted without thinking.

I don't know what I hoped would come out of it. Answers? I don't know. I am sorry if this post is a bit annoying.

I apologize. We all have a beast inside, and we are responsible for what happens when it comes out. I took out my anger in this thread. Sorry for not thinking first.

 

Yeah, a release date would be nice. But remember what happened with Gavel? We originally thought it was going to be released in Winter. 2014. But then we were told:

I'm pretty sure they are working their hardest to provide the higher level quests.

 

The Wynncraft team needs to learn that there's a fine line between suspense and insanity. We're getting closer to it.

 

But an expected month or release would still be nice

Wanna know why the staff isn't giving the community a time frame? Huh?
It's because the staff themselves don't have one either.

We have 1 coder.

This one guy does all of the coding, and believe you me, it's a lot of work. And since there's just 1, We don't have someone around 24/7.

Another issue is Builders and GMs. We're volunteers. We can't be expected to spend our time on WC like it's our job, because it's not.
It's something we do because we want to help out, but we have lives too. (Apart from @Tantibus )

This same issue happend with Gavel. Nobody in the Staff team had a clue as to when Gavel would actually release, we just had to give y'all something so you would stop rioting. We ended up guessing wrong, to say the least.

Either way, updates take time, especially if those who make them are volunteers, and if there's only 1 coder.

Giving people an ETA just ruins our day in the Content Team. Gavel had to be rushed in the final weeks so that it could be out in fall. We literally released one day before winter.

At the moment, all of us are either breaking nuts to gather ideas, or we are recruiting fine new GMs and Builders to help us reach our goal of finishing Gavel.
We are waiting for the one coder we have, to make us able to furtherly work on Gavel.

 

Man I feel bad for you guys, if only more people could code.

 

hmm. Is it not possible to get more coders? How is all of Wynncraft done with only one coder?

 

You ask me? No idea.

As Grian said, there aren't many good coders out there, who aren't already working with mods. Jumla is pretty much the only available coder left.

also there are a lot of small patches that keep us busy for now until the update will come

only thing i think that we could use in the next month or so is adding like 1-2 quests per a month for lvls 90-100 until we have a decent amount of them
i want to get to lvl 97 to use some gear and stuff but i dont wanna be so close to lvl 100 only with grinding i wanna do quests , yet there are none to be found ;-;
