The Eye Has Lag Switch?

Hello, heavy melee user here. So on the wretch phase of the Eye, once I get him below half health every once in a while he’ll use a spell or something (I assume it’s the thing where it like “bites” at you or something, I dunno though cuz-) every time he does this, without fail my computer will freeze. This has caused me to fail 3 EO runs. The only way I was able to solo it was by literally getting on another, better, computer, and it STILL froze me. Fortunately it froze me for less time so I was able to beat it.

Is there any way to avoid this lag switch, or is Eldritch Outlook cursed?

 

Since the eating attack will always happen at certain HP intervals, the only way I can think of how you can avoid it is to see at what amounts of HP it activates (I think one is around 550 000 HP and one is around 1,2 mil, not sure about the third one), and when it activates, just take cover in a corner or something until it's over.
