    Chapter One: The Briefing

The Soldier sat at the Rusty Recruit, drinking their Nemract whiskey. They had just returned to Detlas after defeating the Mistress of the Hive. They noticed another soldier, a familiar one, ah this was the one they helped take back that fortress from the Orcs. Elphaba was her name? The Soldier went over to say hello to her and she Immediately recognized them. "Soldier? Is that you”? She asked. The soldier, of course, said nothing to her and only nodded their head, they never said much at all. “Want to join a top secret mission”? She asked, "sure”? Said the soldier. They walked downstairs into an area of the tavern that the soldier had seen her at before they met, just drinking something. Elphaba was just about to inform the Soldier about the mission as a Familiar face, at least to the Soldier, came in. ”Hey Elphaba, did you find our fourth member”?, the hooded Soldier with a beard noticed the Soldier standing at the table. “Oh, it’s been a while hasn’t it, I am surprised to see you of all people here”. The Soldier recognized the hooded one with a beard, this was Aledar, one of the two Soldiers they had come with to Wynn as recruits from Fruma. “Not going to say much are you”? Said Aledar. “No, not really” said the Soldier. “Uggh, we've got our spare why don’t we just”- - -. “LUCIO,” said Elphaba, annoyed. “We cannot start yet, we need to brief the Soldier first”. “Oh fine, just get it over with”, said a bored Lucio. “Thank you”, said Elphaba, “now, you’ve likely seen the abandoned mines before”, she continued. “But the mines hold a secret beyond them, have you seen that entrance near that town where there were all those angry people”? She asked. “Well, there is a place beyond those mines that is heavily corrupted, likely by a force other than the corruption, it’s known by some as the Silent Expanse”. The Soldier actually remembered that name from an academy run by the people of Mage Island; they had even fought a dark, disgusting creature there and easily won. “Miners from Fruma were mining there hundreds of years ago, they found something dangerous beyond those mines and sealed themselves off into the Expanse to prevent the spread of a new threat”, Elphaba continued. “And recently, creatures of darkness have been seeping through, and we think they're from the Expanse”, She continued. “The existence of this place has been on a need to know basis, and now we need to get in, make it to the end, observe the threat, and then return and report the threat”, Elphaba finished. Lucio was getting more and more impatient to start the mission during the briefing, “Enough with the meeting we’re wasting our time let's get started already”. He said as he casted his arrow bomb spell, causing a Massive hole to burst in the wall.. “LUCIO”, screamed Aledar in anger, “HOW MANY TIMES HAVE WE TOLD YOU TO STOP DOING THAT”, he continued." Fix it Lucio”, he said in a calmer yet stern tone. “Fine”, said Lucio in boredom, as he repaired the wall with an unknown spell. The Soldier was confused about the spell that repaired the wall, they had only used four types of spells using their spear, did archers have more spells than warriors like them? “Well”, said Aledar to the Soldier, “if you’re ready, lets go”. Aledar then created some sort of portal with another spell the Soldier hadn’t used before, and all four soldiers went through.

Yep, I'm adapting all the Silent Expanse quests. Why? Because I feel like they would work really well as a novelization. Also yes this is only the first chapter, I'll post another chapter probably tomorrow, or the day after. These really don't take too long to write. Also I chose not to write the Soldier's name because I can't decide what to call them, but if you have an suggestions for names for the Soldier, then go ahead and say them, I'd love to hear what you think about it.

    Chapter Two: The Four Soldiers

The Four Soldiers stepped out of the portal, and began walking towards a blocked entrance. “So”, Said Aledar, "Is everyone ready?”. “Well anyways, It’s a twist of fate that our paths converged here” He said to the Soldier. “We started our journey together and, and now’ - - - Suddenly, the four soldiers heard a few strange noises, noises that sounded like either grunts or groans. The Soldier knew all too well what they were hearing, “Aledar”, Said Elphaba nervously. “I hear them too, hold on,” Aledar said calmly. Aledar then casted a spin attack with his Mythic Dagger, the noises turned out to be a few corrupteds which had likely come from the Corruption Portal near Detlas. Aledar had easily killed these monsters with one spin attack, “heh, no more running for us eh” He said in a joking voice, “those corrupteds really don’t stand a chance against us now like they did in that underpass”. The Soldier laughed for the first time in Aledar’s life, at least the life he remembered. The Soldier knew Tasim actually had his memories thanks to that Doctor in Elkurn, but they dare not tell Aledar about this, as that would be going against Tasim’s wishes which were very clear. The Soldier remembered Tasim’s words, “please, don’t tell Aledar about this, trust me he’s better off now knowing about this”. Aledar was surprised at the Soldier’s laughing, which they immediately stopped to make sure they all kept their serious tone. The four soldiers continued to walk towards the entrance to The Expanse and as they came to it Elphaba said, “This is actually our second attempt, we tried this a few months ago when we didn’t know as much as we do now, let's just say it didn’t go well”. She continued “but now that we have you and Lucio, we should be able to beat whatever monsters are in that mine”. Lucio chuckled, “It can’t be that strong, come on, I bet I could kill it myself with no trouble”. Lucio proceeded to cast a Massive arrow bomb and blew a hole right through the entrance. “LUCIO YOU FOOL”, screamed Aledar in fear. Then, a huge withering monster came out of the shadows, “What”? Said Lucio, “What's the big deal, Elphaba said we can take it on so we can take it on”. Those words ended up biting Lucio in the rear, as the monster immediately threw him aside when he tried to attack it, all Lucio said was, “Ouch”. Aledar though for a moment, “Dammit we need a plan”, he said, “Oh I know”. “I have a plan, we attack this thing”, said Lucio as he attacked the monster again, it threw him aside once more, despite not having any arms to push him with. Aledar quickly explained his plan, “I’ll block it from attacking, Lucio, Elphaba keep it distracted, And the Soldier will cast a spell to block the entrance”. The Soldier looked at Aledar and nodded their head as Elphaba and Lucio distracted the withering monster. Aledar gave the soldier the clear and while he blocked any attacks from it, the Soldier casted a war scream and rocks started rushing down the mountain. “LUCIO, ELPHABA, RUN”, yelled Aledar. Lucio and Elphaba ran out of the Mine entrance as a massive rockslide completely covered the entrance, as well as an explosion due to the power of the Soldier’s war scream spell, throwing the four soldiers out of the way. Elphaba noticed one of them wasn’t there, “we all here, where's Lucio”, she said nervously. “Uhhh, a little help here”?, asked Lucio. “Oh, here, let me help you out”, Elphaba helped Lucio out of the rocks, which hadn’t injured him at all thanks to the armor he was wearing. “Sigh, I'm sorry team”, said Lucio, “I didn’t think this through did I, I've never seen a monster like that before”. The Soldier decided to say something, “Well I have, and I killed it with a few other Soldiers, but honestly this one is far more powerful”, The Soldier then stood silent again, not planning to speak again for a while. Aledar thought for a moment, “I guess it seems like our firepower isn’t the issue, not our numbers, it’s something else that our weapons didn’t affect at all”. Aledar thought again, ‘But I do know someone who can help with this, he knows quite a bit about the darkness, he’s a blacksmith on Black Road”. He told Elphaba the address, and she wrote it in the Soldier’s book, “Alright, I’ve written the Address in your book, meet us there once you're ready”, She, Aledar, and Lucio then created another portal, and walked through. The Soldier, however, rested for a few minutes to regenerate their mana, and they too walked in the direction of Ternaves, wondering what they would hear the blacksmith say there.

Alright, so Chapter Two is here, it's actually a little longer than Chapter One, Chapter Three may be even longer. But anyways, credit goes Pepo since they made AJB, sorry I didn't credit them before. which is what I'm adapting first, Though I probably won't be adapting The Olmic Rune because it's not really important to the story, I still like that quest though, I just don't think It will work in this. Anyways I'm still open to Name suggestions for The Soldier, who is the player. Anyways I'll probably post Chapter Three tomorrow, or Saturday, Anyways, hope yall have a good rest of your day.

Chapter Three: The Blacksmith, and the Darkness versus the Light.

The Soldier was relieved, they had finally reached the Black Road. They walked into Ternaves and found Elphaba standing there, waiting for them. “Ah, we're all here,” She said, the two Soldiers walked into the Blacksmith shop where Aledar and Lucio were already standing. “So Dren, do you know why we can’t damage this beast”? Asked Elphaba. Dren, the blacksmith said, “Yes I do", said Dren. "Your problem is not Elemental, or in numbers, but in fact, your soul" Dren continued. "As you all know, there are three influences that are attacking our world, Corruption, Light, and Darkness" Dren said. "Every human, and villager born for a thousand years has had their soul infected by Darkness" Dren continued. "And to attack a Dark creature, you have to remove that Dark influence from your soul, and replace it with Light influence”. The Soldier pondered for a moment, “and how exactly do we remove that from our soul”? “In order to remove it from your soul, I need two items”, Dren continued. “I’ll need a shard from a Dernic Beast”, there’s one in the Roots of Corruption, I will also need a Light Item”. “Oh and how do you suppose we get a LIGHT Item”? Asked Lucio. “Well you could get it from any Light creature, like the Fairies in Gavel, or any Light Creature in the Light Forrest”, Dren answered. Elphaba thought for a moment about who would get what, finally, She decided. “Lucio and I will get the Light Item, Aledar, you and The Soldier should get the Dark item”. “Yes, ma’am, let's go Soldier”. Aledar then created another portal and the two soldiers walked into it. They were now right where It started, right where the Corruption war began. “Well, here we are”, said Aledar, “Let’s go Soldier”. While they were walking down the stairs of the roots of Corruption, The Soldier noticed something, they noticed a look of guilt in Aledar’s eyes, they knew something was going to happen during the mission. But they didn’t know what. They stopped at a certain point, where there was just a wall of Corruption right in front of them. The Soldier wondered what was there. “Our scientists found that the caves around the roots are far more complex than we originally thought they were”, said Aledar. He continued, “There’s got to be one with far more powerful creatures, Here!”. Aledar then Blasted a hole through the wall with another spell that, again, The Soldier had never seen before. Aledar looked at The Soldier, “Well?, what are you waiting for? Let's Go!”. They walked through the dark cave, not literally dark, but Dernic, heavily corrupted. They came to a pond full of molten lava, sometimes the lava would burst out like a volcano, just like in the Molten Heights. The Soldier didn’t want to remember what happened there now did they? Aledar pondered for a moment, “I don’t think we can get across with our movement spells, any ideas?”. The Soldier looked behind them, “yep, just watch”, they said with no emotion in their voice whatsoever. The Soldier killed all of the Demonic Dragons? These “Dragons” had wings on them, there must have been at least nine, no, Ten of those Demonic Dragons. The Soldier gave a pair of wings to Aledar which they had ripped straight from the beasts, they had also gotten one for themselves of course. “I’ve never used wings like this before, or in general”, Aledar said, “But I guess these will do, I think if we just hold them they’ll help us glide across”. “Try not to drop them, and definitely don’t hit the Lava Geysers, obviously”, Aledar continued. Both Soldiers glided across the pond, without hitting the Geysers of course, and they safely landed on Dernic stone. “Don’t forget why we're here”, said Aledar, “if you find a creature of darkness, Shout for me”. Of course they didn’t have to look for long, as a Mangled Progeny came rushing towards them. And then it tried to collapse the cave. Aledar screamed, “THAT’S OUR TARGET, AFTER IT”. The Two Soldiers ran through the cave, Aledar fought the Progeny’s forces while The Soldier took on the Mangled Progeny by Themselves. After The Soldier had pierced the Progeny with their spear, they took a corrupt pearl from it, as Aledar finished his fight with the Progeny’s forces. “Well call me impressed”, said Aledar, “I honestly thought you would need my help with this, it seems like you didn’t need any at all”. Aledar continued, “Well, we go what we came for, let's head back to Dren. Meanwhile, Elphaba and Lucio were having a much more difficult time finding their item. Lucio was getting impatient, “Oh where are we gonna find that item?”, He asked, “We aren’t going to find it here obviously”. Elphaba was more annoyed with Lucio’s whining than anything else, but she had known him for awhile, she knew he was going to complain, but she agreed with him that this was taking far too long. “We’d better find that item soon, Aledar and The Soldier probably have their item already”, she said. “You won’t find it here”, said a voice, “whatever it is”. An Elf came right next to them, he was a younger elf, red hair, blue clothes, he seemed like the kind of person The Soldier would probably be good friends with. “And who exactly are you?” asked Elphaba. “Oh sorry, forgot to introduce myself, I’m Olon”. Said the Elf. “So what are you looking for?” Olon asked. Elphaba and Lucio explained about the light item and that "a scientist in wynn needed it”. “Ah yeah I know what you’re looking for”, said Olon, “the only place to get that kind of item is in the Realm of Light, I’ll show you to the portal”. Olon showed the two soldiers to the Portal to Light, and, of course, they followed him. They came to a tree in the Light Forrest, well, it was actually a tree stump, but we’ll just say it’s a tree. “This is it, just jump into the portal, kill one of the more powerful creatures, and then just jump out where you fell in”, said Olon. “how long has this portal been open”? Asked Lucio. “Same amount of time as the Corruption Portal, and probably the Darkness Portal, though it’s only been unlocked for a few months, maybe that Lari girl has something to do with it”, replied Olon, “Lari was always about the light, haven’t seen her for a while though”, Olon continued. “Well, thanks for the help, uhh, Olon”, said Elphaba, “I guess we’ll be going in now”. Elphaba and Lucio walked up the tree, and jumped into the portal. When they got there, they fell straight onto a quartz-like platform. They both got up, surprisingly had no injuries, and started to look for any possible light creatures powerful enough to contain something powerful enough to purify them with. They were surprised by how many land masses there were, it was like the Sky Islands in Gavel. “I’m surprised to see you two here, I would have thought it would be The Soldier who would come here next”, said a very comforting sounding voice. “I’m going to assume you both need some sort of item from here”, It said again. “Who are you, and why can’t we see you?” Asked Lucio in a confused yet scared voice. “Orphion”, said the voice, “now, what item do you seek?” “Well”, said Elphaba, “we need something to purify us, we need it for a mission in Wynn you see”. “Ah yes, take this”, replied Orphion. The Light Beast walked towards the Soldiers, bestowing an item that Elphaba and Lucio had never seen before. Orphion dropped the item out of his mouth, it surprisingly had no sort of saliva on it, Elphaba picked it up. “Good luck on your mission”, said Orphion. “Well, uhh, thank you Orphion”, said Elphaba. Orphion teleported, most likely back into his Nexus of Light, and the two soldiers jumped, and immediately Flew Right Out of the Realm of Light. “Ok, maybe we did have it easier than Aledar and that spare did”, said Lucio. “They are not just a spare Lucio”, Snapped Elphaba, “from what I’ve heard, they’ve done more in Eight months than you have in Eight years!”. Lucio scoffed at this, “then why did Aledar look so hesitant when they joined us huh?”. “Because they're both friends”, Elphaba said “they came to Wynn together with another soldier, whom I’ve also met, Though it seems like Tasim really likes getting paid, yet he says he wants to help people”. Lucio shut up after that, knowing Aledar, it would be extremely painful for him to do and see what was to come. The Four Soldiers met back up at Dren’s shop. “Hah hah hah, ah looks like we lucked up on this one didn’t we”, said Dren, “did you get the items needed”. Aledar and The Soldier gave Dren their item, as did Elphaba and Lucio. “That should do it, come into my shop”, said Dren. Dren led them into the biggest room of his shop, which wasn’t all that big in the first place. “Let’s see if this will work, come here Soldier”, he said. The Soldier stepped in front of Dren, the other three all went around him. Dren then said some strange chant that no one of the Soldiers had heard before, and then the spell was casted. “There we go, it’s done”, said Dren, “You all ought to be able to break through that barrier that was giving you trouble”. “Are you sure?”, Asked Elphaba, “I don’t really feel any different”. “Well you’re not supposed to feel different”, laughed Dren, “and anyways, I think you all should probably head to that mine entrance now”, Dren continued. “Good luck with your mission all of you”, Dren finished. The Four Soldiers thanked Dren, Aledar created a portal, and they all walked into it. They came out, and knew this would be the ultimate test. “Alright, let’s get to it”, said Aledar. “I’ll make sure that thing doesn’t get out, " said The Soldier. They moved the fallen boulders with their spells, and the fight commenced.

Well hello again! I told yall this would be the longest chapter so far, I included a part that wasn't in the original AJB quest because I felt that I may as well say how Elphaba and Lucio got the light item. It's not needed in the actual quest, but for this adaptation it is. Also yes I know this is a long read but tbh it was a long write too. Anyways, I hope yall enjoy it. And stay Tuned for Chapter Four. And credit goes to Pepo cause they made the AJB quest that's ingame.

Edit one: I removed the part where Dren said their problem was Elemental as Deusphage said that part is going to be removed from the quest. I just want to stay as close to the lore as possible.

Light and Dark aren't elements, and that part is planned to be cut from the quest.

Ah sorry I've rewritten that part, thank you for the correction.

No it's fine, I'm trying to stay as close to the actual lore as possible so Deusphage isn't doing anything wrong, she's just giving feedback.

She telling the writer about the correct information, that is all.

the story itself said to be Wynncraft adaptation so the respect for the source materials is expected

if the writers want to put whatever they want then they can go make their own story with their own setting.

    Chapter Four: The Hidden Horrors

“Time to finish what I started,” said Lucio. Elphaba stopped him, “No Lucio, we have to be careful about this or that thing could get out and cause widespread panic”. Lucio sighed, “Fine”. The Soldier attacked the Withering Black Geist, while Aledar and Elphaba made a shield with their spells, Lucio made sure to distract the beast, and after a few minutes of fighting, The Soldier was able to decapitate the beast. Elphaba sighed in relief, “We . . . we actually did it”. “Thank grook for that” said Aledar, “I was hoping we would be rid of that thing, how it survived as long as it did in there, I have no clue”. Aledar sighed, and said in a serious tone, “I want to warn you all, this may be a one way ticket for all of us”. The Soldier knew what that meant, or at least they thought they did. But they weren’t about to talk about it, that would be weird. “We have an extremely old map of these mines, but we don’t know if it will help us or not”, said Elphaba. Lucio scoffed, “yeah like that’s gonna stop me, watch this”, Lucio casted an arrow bomb in the cave, causing a massive explosion, there were no boulders to block the cave now. “Ok maybe that wasn’t such a good idea”, said Lucio. Elphaba sighed again, “Rocks are one thing, Lucio, but the creatures in the cave are far more powerful, brute strength won’t do you any good, you need force of mind”. “Noted”, replied Lucio. “Well, it’s too late now, we have to complete the mission”, said Elphaba. They walked into the mines, and the horrors commenced. Aledar hoped that Lucio would remember the goal, as well as Elphaba. But the Soldier, they were different, they didn’t just forget things, they somehow remembered everything besides their life in Fruma, and Aledar thought he knew that The Soldier would side with him when the time came. Still, Aledar knew better than to think about that now, “remember the goal Elphie”, he said, “we need to get to the end of the Expanse”. Elphaba was surprised at Aledar’s remark, but she knew he was right. “For some reason it looks like the miners were here yesterday, why does this area look so well preserved?”, asked Elphaba. Lucio also noticed this, “yeah you said the miners were here hundreds of years ago”, he said. Aledar answered this question unclearly, “They were, but I don’t know why the mines would be so well preserved if that was the case, it’s like nothing’s touched them”. Aledar looked at some documents describing The Expanse, “ok, so according to these documents, there’s only one road we need to go on, if we stay on this one we should make it to the end of The Expanse”. Just then, as they were walking, some strange bug-like creatures came towards Elphaba, and tried to bite her. “ARGH, Bugs, get the hell off”. She casted her Ice Snake spell, but more bugs came. “Why are they all going after me?”, she panicked, “uggh, so much for nothing living here”. The Soldier looked around and slapped their face with their hand, did Elphaba not notice all the creatures living in the mine, did she forget that beast they had to fight? It didn’t matter now though. “So how far is it until we get to the end?”, asked Elphaba. Aledar didn’t know what to say, so he just responded with, “I read the same map as you, It didn’t even have any scale to it, but there should be a bridge up ahead”. They came across a collapsed bridge. “Well, a destroyed bridge”, said Lucio, “and it wasn’t because I blew it up, interesting”. “I guess we’ll have to go around then”, said Aledar. Aledar then noticed that Elphaba was looking strange. “I’m not feeling very well, AAAHHHHH”, Elphaba screamed in pain as something came out of her. “MY LIVER, IT TOOK MY LIVER”, She screamed in anger and confusion. Elphaba ran after the creature, Aledar, Lucio, and The Soldier ran after her as well. “Elphaba NO! It’s an illusion, come back damnit”, shouted Aledar. It was no use, Elphaba disappeared as soon as she caught the creature. “Where did she go, ELPHABA!”, screamed Aledar. The soldier realized this was not something they had seen before, they were still calm as ever, at least on the outside, on the inside they were the most fearful they had ever been. “Aledar come on don’t you think we should just back down now?” “We can’t Lucio!”, “We have a mission damnit, Elphaba is a capable warrior, we will fight on and find her”, said Aledar. “Might want to avoid that person”, said The Soldier. Aledar and Lucio didn’t know what The Soldier was talking about, but all three carried on regardless. They came back to the collapsed bridge, and walked around it. “It feels like something’s watching us,” said Aledar. Lucio was amazed by the ancient buildings they were walking next to, “You didn’t tell me there was a town here”. “Two,” said Aledar, "one city beyond the mines, and one in the center of the Expanse”. Aledar continued,”Apparently that town has some sort of obelisk where the bank is, an old hooded person told us about it”, “they didn’t say their name but they did hint about knowing Bob”. The Soldier had seen some letters in the Nessak Tundra months before, maybe this was Nilrem, no, it couldn’t be, Nilrem was likely dead, but if Tarod was still alive . . . The Soldier wondered if it may have been Old Man Martynn, maybe they were the same person. Whatever, it did not matter at this moment. All three Soldiers stopped when they saw a woman, young looking, a miner outfit, which probably wasn’t suited for mining but maybe pickaxes were different at the time the miners would have been alive The Soldier thought. Lucio was not about to let this go like The Soldier and Aledar were. “Wait a sec, isn’t that one of the miners? “Does she need help?”. “HEEEEY YOU OVER THERE!”. “Lucio, NO, it's a trap!”, Aledar shouted, but Lucio wouldn’t listen, he kept running towards the woman, the woman grabbed him with some strange spell, and tightly locked Lucio in some shield. Aledar and The Soldier could only look horrified as Lucio was begged by the obsessor to come with “them”. “AHHHH Stop screaming at me I can’t understand”, cried Lucio in terror. “YOU WILL STAY?” “THANK YOU, WE WILL GO TOGETHER, YOU’LL BE SAFE WITH US!”. The Obsessor continued, “NO MORE FEAR, NO MORE CONCERN”, “Foreeeever”. Lucio screamed in pain as the Obsessor teleported with him somewhere unknown, Aledar wasn’t only worried, he was downright terrified. “No no no this is really bad, we have to go Quickly!”, “We can’t stay here”. Aledar and The Soldier walked towards the end of the mines, and at the end of the tunnel, there was . . . “Wait, Elphaba?, :Lucio?” Asked Aledar with a slight bit of relief in his voice, which turned into disappointment. “Oh, it’s just one of the miners, look you need to get out of here it’s not safe”. Suddenly, a large growling sound came, The Soldier looked up, before they could warn Aledar, the monster came and swallowed Aledar whole, as he screamed “AHHHHHHHHHHHHH”. The Soldier was now afraid, they knew they now had to get to the end of this dreaded expanse, but they knew they had to at least try and find one of the three soldiers lost, maybe they were all still alive. The Soldier only hoped that Aledar wouldn’t belong to It’s name.

Sorry Chapter Four took so long, I guess I was bored of adapting this. I hope Deusphage doesn't come in and tell me this or that is no longer canon.
