There is a door in the woods. There has always been a door in the woods. How long it has stood there, it's hard to say. Maybe it never truly started standing in the woods. But there is a door in the woods.

There is a door in the clearing in the woods. It stands alone, surrounded by clear meadows. This door does not go anywhere, and this door opens into everything. Does this door exist? Hard to say. But there is a door in the clearing.

There is a door. There are many doors, but there is only one door. The door is closed, the door is locked, the door has never been opened. Nothing lies beyond the door, for the door does not lead anywhere. The door opens into nothing, the door opens into the universe. But there is a door.

There is a child before the door. They are tall, short. They are male, female, neither, both. They are young, old. They stand before the door that stands in the clearing in the woods. The child did not come here, the child has never been here. But there is a child before the door.

The door stands. The door looks at the child, looks into the child. The child looks at the door in the clearing in the woods. The door that has always been there. The child steps forward, and the door opens. The door has always been open. But the door stands.

There is no door in the woods. There has never been a door in the woods. There will never be a door in the woods.

The door opens into infinity, and the child steps through.

There is no door.
