The Compendium Of Statera

So lately I have been working on a project of mine (I know I have like 1,000 to the power of 1,000 projects) known as the Compendium of Statera. It is basically like a book of Shadows that cover all things magical in our world. Of course it is all fictions but lots has been inspired by other works such as the book from Ni No Kuni, Charmed Book of Shadows and the 3 journals from Gravity falls.

I have reached around 40 pages of content for the guidebook/handbook to the mythical and a believe that I am ready for a bigger project with more freedom. This project would be of a COMPLETELY different world which would allow more freedom for me to sculpt. See, the thing is, is that when you take earth and get the pliable areas and then mold it too much, the project can sometimes overlap itself because having a magical forest where cities are is a bit ridiculous. Having a magical forest in the middle of a mythical area I have already described makes the project lose continuity as well...

Do you guys reckon I should attempt this new project? I cannot take pictures of the first book at the moment but I know I can tackle this one on. It is just that I need some backbone for an entire world. So I also ask for some inspiration on the background of this world. I just need a summary of what you would think makes a good idea and then I will work upon that.

At the moment, I am thinking of a world riddled with magic that is governed by a few major factions. There is an aether hat is partially breathable instead of space. So it is basically magical parallel universe. What should the factions be called? What should some of them more magical places look like? What should the planets of this world be like if they have been influenced by magic?

Give me some ideas and I will update this so that I can give a briefing on the world at the moment!

 

If you're gonna do it, you'd better pack a sh*t ton of motivation and work.
Nothing sucks more than losing interest in a half completed project.
