The absolute state of wynncraft

Todays the day im finally fkin free from Wynncraft, is it because i reached max level with every class, did every quest and side quest? Nah. Its because im done with my patience. I grinded my arse off to get the full skien set, every single part of it and it has been carrying me every since then. Now i go afk for a minute due to a call, jump up a big ass mountain thinking no one will be able to get me there, guess what? I was wrong. A call turned into searching for documents for roughly an hour straight, so i come back and see ive died, fair enough went afk and died due to that nothing wrong with it despite the fact that ranged enemies in wynncraft need some major fixing due to how far away they target and hit you from. HOWEVER, once i checked my inventory i got my rude awakening, no soul points left and everything i had on me including all of my armor gone. Why is that? Because after dying and spawning in a town, which should be a safe point due to you know, those fucking GUARDS everywhere, there was a single mob, right next to the spawn point. So guess what happened? In that one hour i was gone i was killed over and over again to a point that all of my items were stripped and dropped. Why would a game imply mechanics as such? Pretty simple, to get you to recover your process by buying. Im honestly surprised wynncraft doesnt straight up offers to buy back items lost to death for 4.99$, however having to get back your lost items would be far too easy for a game like wynncraft and thats where we are at. The 2.0 update is the last update that actually added anything major and interesting to the game with specialisations, something that could have and should have been a thing ages ago however it was kept as a resort to get people back to playing and anyone that has been watching wynncrafts player count has seen how far its dropped in the past 2 years. From 10k to barely 2k on a good day maybe 5k and honestly i cant fault anyone for leaving no matter how many hundred of hours they put into wynncraft. A game so flawed with such shitty mechanics that straight up refuses any sort of compensation or refund even if it wasnt the players fault for deeming a safe zone as a place is, well save doesnt deserve such a dedicated community such as wynncraft does.
Therefore, if you think about quitting, do so. Nothing good comes off spending ages to progress just to lose it due to a fault in the game or to quote the late technoblade, it takes less time to progress in hypixel skyblock then getting level 100 in wynncraft.

you can just use /class if you want to afk, it takes like 2 seconds to type.
I know this sounds like a bit of a snarky remark but it really isn't wynncraft's fault.

 

Not really sure where you got the “buying back” your progress from. While it’s unfortunate that happened to you, it could’ve been prevented by doing /class or just disconnecting while you’re gone. Also, just out of curiosity, which town was this?

 

While in general, I have to agree with you that it's stupid that Wynncraft hasn't fixed unsafe towns where you can get killed over and over again, some of the points you make are straight-up ridiculous.

Where are you pulling those numbers from? In the last two years, Wynn never had 10k concurrent, consistent players. There were more people playing when COVID restrictions were a thing, occasionally there was a youtuber who made a video on Wynn and also when updates rolled out there were more players. But there's no way Wynn had 10k concurrent players consistently 2 years ago. So yea, no the player count didn't drop.

Also, what do you mean by progress on Hypixel's skyblock? I haven't played much Hypixel's skyblock, but you can literally get to lvl 100 on Wynncraft in a few hours. Of course you need to know what you're doing to achieve that, but I'm suspecting you also need to know what you're doing on Skyblock as well if you want to progress efficiently

This is also stupid though, how did you come to the conclusion that this isn't Wynncraft's fault? Sure, he should've classed, but it's not like the game advertises /class as the best afk method, and realistically only the first death was on him, cuz he decided to go afk somewhere random in the wilderness. But once he got killed and respawned in whatever town, there should be no risk of him ever getting killed. That's on Wynncraft, not this guy. And if some towns are really meant to be unsafe (I'd understand places like Olux to be relatively unsafe), then I think the game should mention it in some way or another.

Ok aside from the conspiracy rant he is perfectly right that Wynn not having towns be safezones is a horrible design flaw. I am still shocked that nothing has been done about it for over 9 YEARS when this has been a problem since wynncraft started. It is wynncraft's fault. So many new players have quit because of this. The /class workaround is not an excuse.

 

Conclusion: Both party is at fault in some way or another :/

i almost quit wynn bc of this, what i think they could do if possible is make it so that if someone afks for long enough, /class happens automatically. exceptions would have to be written into the code for cutscenes, but it would prevent newer players from suffering just for not knowing about something.

Just cope man, no game is gonna be perfect. And honestly, it doesn't take long to regain what you had lost in the first place.

This entire thing is a joke... From the responses to the original post. I do agree that it would be good if towns would be properly safe from mobs. Which from what I know is an easy fix, you can code in a plugin where in certain regions, mobs who are bad just despawn if they enter the city. And an also easy fix is /class. And this has happened to me, it was sad but like... I recovered pretty quickly.

While when you first to Wynn, it probably takes longer (I don't know why this is bad, that there is a large amount of gameplay???). But once you do it once, you can get through it pretty quickly. Also the update thing, I don't get your point... are you mad that they are improving their server?

So you brought up good points, it was just a bit "intense". I won't continue talking about the original post cause it's all been said and done.

Some made good points and responses, but some people are just... Well not good. We know how it could've been prevented, but it's not entirely their fault and the people who just hate on this guy are kinda rude. Not to mention what this guy said:

This staff member making that reply didn't help their case. This just makes their point shine about Wynn not being the best if their staff are saying basically rude stuff. From my experience they've made rude comments on a lot of posts. People (especially staff), just be respectful

 

Alright, I had no intentions on replying again to this thread but I'm just gonna clear some things up. For starters, yes my comment was useless and provided no helpful advice (I'll talk more about that in a sec). Second, I'm sorry that my joke came across as rude, I simply just thought the situation was humourous as well as tragic since I have also suffered from the same mistake in the past.

The reason why I never provided any advice is because for starters, they've already lost all their stuff. Nothing I can do about that. Other people already responded that doing /class is the safe method for afk. Second, from what I've seen at Ragni, mobs seem to be unable to pass the gateway from Emerald Trail into the city, so I was under the impression a lot of towns were like that. Apparently that is not the case, so my apologies for misunderstanding.

That being said, a note to all readers: if you decide to go AFK, please be safe and use /class. Wynn has a strict no refund policy and cannot be held responsible for any lost items, and the mobs that protect towns are unreliable and should not be trusted to protect you from stray mobs.

If this situation is a serious issue, please consider making a thread in the General Suggestions section of the forums. More people can then apply their own thoughts and feedback on the situation.
