Community Event The 4xHIC TCC and NOL runs

As a reminder, HIC stands for,

• Hardcore, You cannot die even once
• Ironman, You cannot trade with other people, you cannot use the bank/trade market, other players cannot heal/buff you
• Craftsman, You can only use items crafted by players
• and optionally Hunted, You can be attacked by players 10 levels higher/lower than you (who are also in hunted)

Now what happens when you take 4 of these and run raids with them?

On 8/13/22, thebigcnu and I asked on prof discord if any other HICs would be interested in running TCC/NOL with only HIC classes. Obviously, it would be very dangerous as we each only have one life, and raids are the hardest content on Wynn (as of now). We got a few responses, and our two new members were Linny and Crokee. Later on, we invited sebcd too, bringing the party to 5/4.

One massive problem was that we didn't know when our deadline was. Since we didn't know when exactly 2.0 would release, we had to get our gear setup alongside grinding consumables for the raid quickly. Apart from that, another issue was our timezones. Linny, Crokee, and seb were in NA, cnu was in EU, and I was in OCE. This would mean that finding a time that matched all of our schedules would be difficult.

We eventually settled on Sunday, 8/21 (Saturday, 8/20 for NA). Linny, Crokee, cnu, and me could fit that schedule (10pm, 7am, 12pm for NA, EU, OCE respectively). We planned on doing TCC and NOL in one go, since Monday onwards meant we might not find another time to fit us before 2.0. 2.0 would change the combat system entirely, so we wanted to avoid that and finish this as soon as possible.

On 8/20, 4pm GMT+0, me, cnu, and Linny were actually available right then. while Crokee wasn't online, seb had a 45 minute break from work. So, we decided that we would do a 20min TCC run right then, and save NOL for tomorrow. Thus, the teams were:

We all expected TCC to be the easier of the two raids. So, seb could easily join in without grinding consumables (as he was too busy to grind them). The rooms we got were mostly pretty boring, unfortunately, aside from the 2nd room.

The boss itself wasn't that hard, which really surprised us since we weren't expecting to shred its HP that fast (us 4 probably average around 200k dps combined). seb and I got close to dying once due to the explosion attack. We overprepared a lot and easily beat it.

1st room is not hard apart from the ranged mobs destroying our dura. 2nd room was fine whichever one we got, and I guess we got lucky pog room doesn't get to shred our dura for the 3rd room.

The crystallization and blood ruin combo do make NOL a bit more dangerous, and the minions make the fight way more hectic, but with coordination, it's much easier than TCC. Again, we weren't expecting to completely destroy Orphion. Cheru III made this fight way easier.

In fact, we did it twice.

Fun challenges even though I've barely did much as I already had most consumables ready way before this was a thing. Let's see what 2.0 brings us and let's give it a shot again!
