TCC Depression

Can't survive TCC. Always die in the second challenge. No matter what build, how much ehp, I cannot survive. What is my skill issue? What is my malfunction? I'm in pain.

 

bring hp pots and other consummables

also the 2nd challenge can be different from raid to raid, if its the wings and 4 paths, then tell your teamates you wanna take the wings

if its the open paths with platforms, try to go last and chose a person to go with

 

what is your ehp, and do you have any recovery? you should be able to live consistently on 30k (without agi) and taking giant every time. past that, follow advice above.

 

What class and level? Also, what group do you have with you? You do know that if you die in a raid you'll be back in the next round, right? Sorry for asking a lot of questions, just trying to get a better understanding so I may offer assistance!

 

106 Warrior, 104 Shaman

Even with 30k+ ehp I just get farmed by the mobs. If I die, then one of my teammates dies (which will always happen because someone else is also always incompetent in TCC) the raid is over.

second challenge? i can see why this build would die in the third, but there's no way you die in the second unless you're just really bad or something

 

The third one is much easier for me because I don't have to stand in one place for 35 seconds.

you have a good point. you need to be able to solo a platform in this stage, since not doing so means you bank on 3 teammates who can not only all survive better than you, but are co-ordinated well enough to pick corridors immediately with no double-ups. it's just not feasible in the majority of parties, even when everyone is competent.

your primary threats in the 3 platforms room are any mobs that you can't just knock away from you: cci and ranged enemies. for both of these, you should dps them down as much as you can to limit the number of them that concurrently exist. unfortunately, all of this is harder to manage on warrior because of lower damage/range.

i propose instead to run a high lifesteal secondary (another ignition is probably best) and powder e4e4. quake heals scale with the number of mobs it hits, so it's great for when you're surrounded by mobs. keep charging and activating quake when you need to hold platforms.

on this note, flummox gets comparable damage/defenses and adds an extra 600 lifesteal. if negative mana steal is a problem, sparkweaver sacrifices a little bit of hp to patch it back.

other things you can try:
- use a build with rally.
- use a mixed def/agi build. this fares worse in stage 1 but scales better into later parts of the raid as you accumulate buffs. here's a sample cdd and a side-by-side comparison of the two builds after +50def: (original build, this cdd).
- grab tier 1 armour tomes from notg.

does lackluster damage in the beginning stages but once you get stonewalker 1 or 3 you're set
also literally immortal because you have the ~170k ehp with rhythm of the seasons
