    Umugud wats dis? ANOTHER STORY?!
Ye. This is just a story I wrote in my spare time, while juggling schoolwork, Prodigy and Adventurers of Gavel. Enjoy!

It had been hell for many years since the portal of corruption had been opened by the unfortunate, greedy miners. Thousands of uncurable beasts of death - zombies, skeletons, corrupt scuttling spawn, ghouls & many more - were determined with an everlasting hunger to destroy any human that stood in their way. A war of pain and suffering ravaged the province of Wynn for years. Within that century, mistakes were made, battles were won & lost, casualties of thousands occurred every year, and many brave warriors lost their lives. But, there is good to this war.
Our leaders learned from their mistakes, & made decisions they'd thought they would never do in a life without war. Trade routes were established, villagers arrived from their homeland bringing new magic & hope, legends were born and created - and tales were procured from the unknown.
    These are those tales.
    This is their story.
This - is Tales from the Great War!

    Episode 1:
    The cave of Emerald
10 years into the war, & already massive blows had been dealt to the province. With food & building supplies drastically low, scout parties were sent to distant towns to deliver crops, quality food, building tools & smeltery supplies for the people.
On the seventh month of the tenth year of the war, a scout party - consisting of archers, warriors & a mage - were sent from Detlas to patrol the outskirts of Nivla Forest for undead activity. However, while they were close to the river that led to the newly built Nemract Port, they saw a glint of green in the riverbed. At first, they thought it was just an astray emerald, left on the grass. But as they looked closer, they discovered the emerald was set directly in a large rock. A new emerald deposit! They thought. This is great news! They had to tell someone!
And they did - approaching a group of miners residing in Detlas to dig it up, they agreed, & travelled to the spot. With them was an elementalist - a mage who chose the path of a more gentle magic dedicated to preserve life in nature. Why did they bring an elementalist, you may ask? Well, as these miners learnt from the mistakes of the poor souls who opened the nether gate, they needed to make sure there was nothing beneath the deposit that would end up becoming catastrophic - so they recruited an elementalist to check anything they dug.
But when the elementalist performed the ritual that would x-ray the ground, he nearly fainted from shock. To the miners, this was telling them it was obviously a place of dark magic or corruption. But the elementalist faintly told them it was safe to dig. Taking his words for it, they dug into the riverbed, until they came face to face with a SOLID WALL OF EMERALD!
The miners examined it with shock. How was this possible? Blocks of emeralds were only able to be forged by man!
The mining group halved, one getting started chipping into the emerald, & the other half travelling back to Detlas to tell someone of this news. Within a week, letters were sent to the powerful members of mage island, eventually bringing them to this phenomenon. The grand mage of the island himself came out of curiousity. They were not disappointed, when the miners had finally broken through the natural wall of emerald. As they looked inside, the mages present were astounded - and intrigued.
The inside was revealed to be a small cave, completely made from solid emerald. And at the bottom lay a pool, that at second glance revealed to be unthinkable.
Liquid Emerald. Shimmering, in its glowing green domain. To some people, this meant the end of the war. With a way to create liquid emerald from scratch, people could buy anything, go anywhere!
Some were still unconvinced however, so an investigation was made to find this caves origin. How did it get there? What did it mean?
The closest thing to truth was revealed months later, as research & predictions by several mystics & elementalists were finally formed together. This, was how it happened:
In the time of the gods of Wynn forming the world, a young Mt Wynn erupted. From its mighty bellow came a stream of magma, hot rock & mud, which ran all the way to the bottom of the volcano. Now, at that time, the river that lead to the ocean was a mighty current, with only a small stream that led to the ever-growing sea. The river, of course, still resided at the foot of the volcano, right next to the sloping plains that would one day become Nivla Forest. The thick mixture of magma, rock & mud landed at the riverbed, sizzling into the soft grass, creating a cavity that would soon be swallowed up once more.
However, the mixture had gone so far, it broke through the riverbed, making contact with water. Within minutes, the newly created cavity had been submerged with water, giving the magma no more time to continue melting through the wet ground. As the rock cooled, the process of crystallization began. Although, this wasn't any ordinary process. And Mt Wynn wasn't an ordinary mountain.
Deep magic, to this day, resides in the depths of the sleeping mountain. The magma was enchanted with a symbiotic misplacement guard, which transfers from one physical form to another. The enchantment still remained as the magma cooled down to become rock.
Centuries passed, and the crystals grew more & more, pressurised by the water in its enclosed space. But as more & more storms occurred, more & more of the river was let into the ocean, until it was drastically down to a quarter of what it had once been.
Now, over time, the symbiotic enchantment evolved until only the emeralds growing in the cave was possessed by it. But what did the crystals require? The water which had helped it grow for so long. The river level dropped, so the water went down until it rested at the bottom of the cave, unable to reach the stream. You could guess what happened next. With no water to sustain it, the emeralds magic gained a desperate mind of its own & tried to find the water. And so, the emeralds of the walls grew - consuming everything in its path, until the entire cave was made of solid emerald.
And when it finally made it to the water at the bottom of the cave, the force of the enchantment was so overwhelming, that the emeralds possessed the water, forging natural Liquid Emerald. And thus, it remained in solitude - until the scout party discovered it, as it was previously stated.
Unsure what to do with this discovery, the mage council ultimately gave the decision to block the passage into the cave, for fear of someone using it for their own personal gains.
Alas, due to it being one of many problems of the war, its record was lost, from sight & from memory.
But, as most people know, magic fades through time without an energy powering it. The cave still lies beneath the river... Maybe now, you can finally see it yourself.

    THE END

Fascinating! I'd love it if you made a bunch more of just random places in Wynn (real or not).
On a random side note, you sound like a lorist from Rotmg <-- anyone know what that is?

This story was originally meant to be the first of a short series, delving further into unknown mysteries and unmistakable ruins scattered all over Wynn that had appeared during the Great War. I might be able to continue it if I get my creative juices pumping ;D
