Tales From The 1 In 60 Side

At one time or another, most of us have seen a world that we could not login to. A world with a 1/60 listing when we check in the lobby to see if we can get into any world. Well, I'm here today to tell you the story of what it's like being The One.

I was running around, trying to do the Aldorei's Secret Part I quest. I was looking for "things" to help solve a mystery. Yes, I'm being mysterious here, because I don't want to put a "Spoiler" tag on this thread. Now, back to my experience, thank you. So, I was walking all over Aldorei Valley, and I met more than a few NPCs. As they were supposed to be part of some quest (they had tags that said Quest NPC) I talked to them, and followed their instructions.

Place to place I go, merrily along the way. I find the same item in an item frame in several places, but there is nothing else of interest there. So, I keep looking. And looking. And looking. Hours go by, and I'm not getting anywhere. Am I missing something hidden? Is there a trick to any of this? I push a button, and I hear notes, but I don't see anything. Something's strange in the neighborhood. Persistance, Persistance.

You know, I'm beginning to wonder just what is going on. I've been here, quite literally, for several hours, and I can't find anything. I've gone into several hidden areas, as directed, but there's nothing of interest in any of them. What to do? What to do? I know! I'll check to see if there is a YouTube guide for this quest! Sue enough, there is.

So, I start a video, made by @Mr Sebbelonien. What? He goes to the same places that I did, but he sees Signs. Uh, oh. Something is not right in WynnCraft, tonight.

Hours? I've been doing this for four hours? Don't the servers reset after two hours? Now, I'm beginning to wonder if it's me, or my connection to WynnCraft. Whom I gonna call? Well, let's see if anyone is on that I know. So, I hit the "Tab" key. Yes, there are people ingame that I know. BUT, I'm One of Sixty. I'm the only person on the server. I know that This Is Not Good. Yes, it's kind of nice to be The Only One on a server, to have it all to myself. But I know that it also means that Something Is Wrong.

Well if Something Is Wrong here, it's time to leave. So I go to /hub, and land in the lobby. It takes a few moments for the lobby server to let me go into another world, as it thinks I'm still in the same world that I just left. Now, I go into another world. One with actual, real, Wynnian Humies, and go back to searching for the "things" that I'm supposed to fing. Lo and Behold! There they are! Just like Seb found them!

The moral of the story is, if things don't quite work correctly, or if you don't see what an NPC says you should be able to see, don't keep looking. Change worlds. Don't be One of Sixty.
