Minecraft mechanics =/= Wynncraft mechanics

35-50 players in one location, around 150+ mobs, everyone spamming spells will result in a lot more lag than you think.

Plus, Minecraft has a whole team of devs, while we only have one guy(jpresent). Its not surprising to see them churn out features and optimisations more frequently than us.

 

Nobody is gonna switch from 1.8 to 1.14. Period.

 

They're already dropping support for 1.8 anyway once 1.18 comes out. Wynncraft isn't pvp dependent so there really isn't a real reason to keep 1.8 anymore especially considering there's a lot of unused features of the newer updates that I'm sure the content team would like to use.

Apparently 1.9+ PvP sucks so bad that a significant portion of the Minecraft community has been sticking to 1.8 even after years. That’s why a bunch of mainstream servers have been holding onto 1.8 support like a piece of gum you stepped on.

I personally have never cared for PvP in Minecraft (both before and after 1.9), and I honestly think some people have been overreacting. PvP in Minecraft has always been a bit clunky anyway. I’m especially boggled why people insist Wynncraft, out of all servers, should stick to 1.8 or other previous versions besides bugs. Vanilla combat has no bearing on Wynncraft, and it’s not hard at all to switch versions if you want to play on a PvP server after playing some Wynn. All it does is limit what the server can do. This whole update wouldn’t be possible at all if they didn’t drop 1.8 because of the structure blocks used to reset trees!
