Sunken Block Of Gold & Shadow Of The Beast?

One day I took a trip to Llevigar by Seasail. The captain gave me 3 Sunken Blocks of Gold. Where can I trade these for emeralds? Or can they be traded at all?
Also, I'm doing the "Shadow of the Beast" quest and Tolem is asking me to get Three Escaped Cows. I found 1 cow and killed it 3 times, and I got 3 Escaped Cow Beef. However, I can't use it for the quest. Where am I supposed to look and what item am I supposed to get for this quest?

2) There's three different cows - one in a cave near the farm, one near a gate across this weird bridge west of the farm (I think it's west) and the other slightly north of the farm (unless my directions are wrong XD)

 

You can trade them in Selchar.

And he asks you to find 3 cows, not kill 1 3 times ,_,

As said above, there's a merchant in Selchar where you can trade in the Gold Blocks for about 3 eb each. They're near the gate leading to the town square.
