Stuck On The Thieving Rodents Quest?

I am a level 32 mage. And I have a problem with the Thieving Rodents quest. When I give Kelri the ring that he supposedly lost, he just says I have to go and find the ring. So, I can never finish the quest. /Fixquest doesn't work on this quest, so no matter how much I try, I can't finish the quest. So, as level 32, I still have Thieving Rodents still sitting in the front of my quest book. Any help?

You're giving the golden ring to him, correct?

 

In the quest, the rats can drop a ghast tear called "A Wedding Ring". I've given this to Kelri multiple times. He still says I need to find the ring

 

You have to go into the small cave a little to the right of him, the higher level rodents drop a gold nugget, which is the real wedding ring
