Stuck On Deja Vu

I was doing the quest and wanted to bring back the shovel to Asher. First I noticed I was stuck in invisible barriers. Don't know if this is supposed to happen or if it's a glitch. Eventually with /kill it was fixed. So I headed to Asher and wanted to give the shovel, which he replied with "The apparition of Asher is frozen in time, unable to speak or move". Don't know how to fix. Went back multiple times but doesn't seem to work. I play on 1.16.3 if that matters.

 

Have you tried switching lobbies and talking to him?
If that doesn't work, I'd recommend going to the first NPC that gave you the quest to see if you can restart it from the beginning.
Lastly if all that doesn't work, load up an instance of 1.12.2 and try it again.

 

Hm, if I remember correctly, you're taken to an off-map version of time valley when you pick up the shovel, with a different version of Asher that allows you to progress - so if you used /kill, you're probably trying to talk to the wrong version of Asher. If you haven't yet, I'd suggest going back and picking up the shovel again, or trying to, to get it to give you nausea and take you back to the other version of time valley, and see if that fixes it.
