The province of Wynn: a war-torn province ravaged by the undead, who were awakened 1000 years ago in the Nether. Since then, the fiery, enraging Corruption spread through Wynn, spreading insanity and infection in its victims. Now, though, the scars of the war are beginning to heal, and the province has begun to recover and flourish once again...

The 64th of the Year 1001 Since the Corruption, Tuesday

Eila tended to get a bad rap around the small village of Elkurn. She tried her best to be nice and whatnot everyday, but that didn't solve anything. The problem was that she was related to the notorious "Scam Merchant" of the old VIP Town.

Several years ago, there used to be a town called VIP Town, barely a village and for rich people only, and Eila couldn't help but be jealous of them, because they could afford cake, a rare commodity in rural areas such as Elkurn. The VIPs and VIP+s were of the upper class (not just the upper class, but the richest 1%), all of them either advocates or members of the Bovemist Church, and she earned peanuts compared to them.

Life wasn't exactly easy as a farmer in Elkurn, but then her cousin Perdix ran away from home at 20 and started scamming people for a living in VIP Town, pretending to be a merchant. Well, the news spread like wildfire that Eila's cousin was a scammer, so Eila had gone through some over-the-top social shaming and poor-quality roasts over the years.

Later, VIP Town had closed, and "Scamming" Perdix had disappeared faster than you could say, "You're under arrest!" Which was lucky for him, because at the time he was being chased by guards who did actually want to arrest him.

Every time Eila had come face to face with a guard looking for where to find her cousin, Eila had pointed them in the direction of VIP Town, hoping she'd stop having guards knocking on her doorstep.

This did nothing to get rid of the shaming and insults, though, as Elkurn was a boring place to live, and to be honest, this was the most interesting news they'd heard in a long time. Thus everyone stopped buying her wheat, and Eila had gone almost bankrupt.

Now, with nothing left in Elkurn for her, Eila found herself packing up. She'd lived in Elkurn her whole life, and had never been to any other cities, but she had heard of one city, its name always whispered in awe and reverence in Elkurn, with a note of longing mixed in: Detlas.

How is my story? This is one part of a chapter that's one of 48-or-so more, actually, but I'm posting this first part here to see what you guys think.

I like how you make it start at the current date-ish.

Do you plan on adding things that would happen later on? like the 1006th year since the corruption began?

Yes, but for the most part it's supposed to be set in the recent past.
