% Spell Damage Vs Raw Spell Damage (whats The Differerence)

ive heard many explanations of this but i dont really get it, can someone put it in simple terms for me as well as explain which is better.

 

raw spell dmg just add some neutral to ur spell
% spell multiplies the dmg u do with spells (doesnt multiply raw spell)

i prefer % spell .-.

 

% Spell Damage increases your spell damage by a percentage amount.

Raw Spell Damage increases your spell damage by a concrete amount.

For instance, if you had 20% spell damage, a spell that would deal 100 damage would deal 120 damage.

And if you had 35 raw spell damage, that spell would deal 135 damage.

 

the lower the damage amount. the better raw spell gets. Raw spell is also better for spells with lots of hits eg arrow storm or multihit

 

spell damage raw looks like "+100 spell damage" it is unaffected by critical hits and percent based damage, it will deal neutral damage and ignore all defense a player has.

spell damage percent looks like "+20% spell damage" this is affected by critical hits, and can be applied to element damage.

the same thing applies to melee damage. raw and percent.

 

I want to correct something I said.
negative melee damage and negative spell damage do NOT effect your element damage.
