While watching the trailer for the 99th time today, I noticed something peculiar about the "New Items"

Quick theory: Jump Height actually increases/reduces your jump height, similar to Jump Boost. And yes, it is possible to reduce your jump height via negative Jump Boost, however as far as I know, this is only possible via plugin code and not by normal command block magic.

So we have these new IDs that look like they affect the amount of mana that your spell costs. We've already established that Uproot, Haul, and Aura are the new Shaman spells.

These Spell Costs IDs can increase/reduce the spell cost of the spell either by a flat number or a percent number.

How I'm assuming the percents work is that it just flat out reduces the cost of the spell. So if you have say -50% Multihit Cost and your base Multihit mana cost is 10, then it is reduced to 5. Whether it is possible to get a full -100% mana cost reduction on one spell is unknown currently. Of course, it's not possible to have fully free spells due to consecutive costs.

I don't know if these new Spell Cost IDs are on ingredients, but we'll see.

So what does this bring? This is probably one of the fixes to fix Intelligence being broken. Instead of nerfing Intelligence straight up, they rather made these IDs to allow other elements to have some Spell Spam as well, but not to a large extent. I can kind of see a weapon like Thrunda Ripsaw have a -33% Spin Attack cost or something and a +2 Smoke Bomb Cost.

In my opinion, I think this is a neat idea and may fix the problem. Only time will tell.

What is Uproot? I don't think that's an archer thing, is it?

Turns out it's a Shaman spell. I guess they forgot to change that detail.

During development Shaman was named "Archer" to prevent leaks from friends seeing the login message revealing the class name. Uproot is a Shaman spell.

I like this method of making it so Int isn't a massive requirement, and it also gives some nice flavor to different items.

Yeah, I just read the reason behind it in another thread.
Wow, we are getting quite a lot of new ID's.
This item alone confirms 41 new ID's (spell cost raw and spell cost % for all 20 spells in the game including Shaman spells, jump height).
This update is going to be epic (hopefully).

I want to doubt that there's both a raw and % spell cost ID for every spell in the game. I think (or want to believe) that every spell will have just one of the two types of ID associated with it instead. I imagine that 21 new IDs versus 41 woul prove more reasonable for the item team to manage effectively.

Ah, I see. Yeah, I probably assumed a bit too much. That seems reasonable.
Still a lot of ID's though.
