Speculation On The Grand Archive Discovery

Now as you know, 1.20 has brought us new Gavel Secret Discoveries.
Here is something that piqued my interest though:

Born from another, condemned each other.

One sought for the truth, the other for solace,

but did not treat themselves as brothers.

Breaking through heaven was the young one's dream.

It's call hollowed the souls of the frightened,

but it was not enough to bring a flow to the stream.

The younger one fell, as the ambition brought it down.

The older one watched with grief and sorrow,

only to wear its long desired crown.

Though only for a while, the survivor smiled.

The claws soon ravaged and the blood flowed wild,

as from a nameless place judgement had arrived.

My theory is that it is about King Theden II and his brother, but if anyone else would like to share their theory, then go ahead

Spoiler: My theory on what the missing words are

They arrived in the Canyon. The tremors are getting stronger, Is there anyone here to protect us?
One was larger than the others. Surely it's not the Colossus? It seems calm for now.
Dark bugs have been seen near the forest. The Guardians have fallen are we doomed?
But they... Replaced with... More aggressive... Keep distance I haven't come up with anything for this line

I think it's probably about the 2 collosi, though I'm not certain about that.

 

I don't know why it would be Theden II other than the "crown" part. Also, "breaking through heaven," "claws," "nameless place" - I don't know how those would fit with the Theden II stuff.

They arrived last week. The Canyon; the tremors... are they to protect us?
One larger than others. Not the Ahms Colossus? The tremors have ended, and it is calm for now.
The bugs have invaded the forest. The Guardians have fallen... are we doomed?
But they have been replaced with the Colossus... It is more aggressive... keep distance...

Maybe it’s about Dern Beast and Orphion :thinking:

 

I don't think it's about the monarchy, the colossi or DB and Orphion. I don't actually know what it could be about, for all we know it's just an old fairytale. Here's why I don't think it's these

Monarchy: Only evidence is 1 word
Colossi: ''Break through the heavens'' and ''fall down'' make it sound like it, but their personality descriptions don't seem to match, especially since they both just want to destroy the land they stand in
Beasts of Influence: If Orphion and the DB are rival brothers or something, why would the Dern Beast cry about Orphion being infected. Plus, it says ''survivor''. Orphion didn't die so it wouldn't make sense

 

On further review I'd say the colossus is pretty perfect for the description.

1. The young one, the one with the giant sword that slew ahmsord could not create a flow for the stream. River flowing is a motif of the colossus as it shatters the land creating water. The remaining colossus is also cracked with water flowing in between the cracks. Presumably the reason why it fell was because of its ambition. For what reason the colossus destroyed the land is unknown.

2. Mentioning the crown is interesting considering the design of the remaining colossus. Spikes adorn its head, resembling a crown. The judgement could be the destruction that the surviving colossus is bringing. For an unknown reason, the colossus is destroying the land. However, when we beat the raid, the colossus returns to its state as the guardian.

 

There's evidence in the lore that the Colossi aren't just giant robots and are actually living things (kandon beda citizen dialogue) so maybe the Canyon Colossus was trying to destroy the canyon out of grief for his lost brother who killed himself trying to seek his ambition. Pretty much he tried to finish what was started.
I never thought the blue cracks were water, I always assumed they were some kind of energy crystals summoned by the tremors

 

IIRC CT said they are machines, with only primitive "instincts". They certainly are not sapient

(might be wrong tho)

 

About the older brother, it could be King Theden II, because eventually, he was killed in a riot, (judgment, blood flowing wild, so on), but I'm not sure if he had a younger brother. Maybe his younger brother wanted to start a conquest or whatnot, (because he was ambitious), but maybe he was slain in battle. The Colossus theory is actually really good, I hadn't thought of that

 

also here's my attempted translation for the scrolls:

I think it's talking about the Doguns appearing in the canyon to calm the Colossus, and also the Decay infecting the forests after the Guardian went to sleep

 

Maybe each line is about a different thing?
