Assassin/Ninja Help Specialist

Baisicly good elemental damage, that's it

 

Tbh I feel like with specialist damage isn't too much of the focus. You can just focus on like tank, agi, int, etc elemental damage doesn't look like it would have that much of an effect on it

 

People see the specialist and are like OMG! 600% ELEMENTAL DMG! IT MUST BE INSANE! Nope. I would use alazarin personally.

 

Nvm I thought of a build
1.Use powders on your 2 dominant elements

Helm: Specter
Chest: Gravity or Aqua
Legs: Gemini
Boots: Memento or Leadlights

 

Its not bad, alaz is more defensive. The damage on specialist isn't meant to be insane its balanced, its pretty good for a rare with no requirments too.

 

To be honest, the Specialist weapon is a pure all over again.

 

Not even close. With 2 t6 thunder powders and 650% thunder damage it's arguably better than Cataclysm. (Less damage, but no -health and tons of skill points)

Cataclysm is way better than specialist. the thing is with thunder damage gear on a specialist (Lets say you have 100% thunder damage gear) So then you have 750% at max but 850% of 80 damage. How about 100% thunder damage bonus on something with over 900 damage?

 

Actually the cataclyism only does 840 damage max. But with three tier two powders the dagger does 2230 DPS, at the cost of lots of health. However, assuming I did my math correctly, which I probably didn't, the Specialist still does an impressive 1350 DPS. In comparison, Grimtrap only does 997 DPS

Specialist is an alright replacement but not amazing

Remember that Cataclysm gives -4000 health and The Specialist gives up to 100 skill points. If you are going to use Cataclysm effectively then you won't want to add more thunder damage %. Instead you would want to focus on higher hp so you won't get one shot by everything. If you max out your agility you will still have a 20% change of getting hit which isn't reliable, especially for assassin which has very little mobility in pvp compared to other classes.

 

The entire point of cata is to do fuckloads of damage but be an extreme glass cannon. Don't go for a tankyer build with cata. Thunder as an element is mostly based on luck, lots of damage and low hp not, Pretty good damage and tanky

 

I'm completely aware of that, but there is no point in doing tons of damage if you will die before you can hit them. If you use specialist you can do tons of damage while still being able to hit the enemy before you are obliterated by whatever hits you. Not to mention the boost in skill points allows you to use items with high skill point reqs while still maintaining a low spell cost (gemini and leichtreach makani specifically)

 

Use vanish to sneak up then spin attack or multihit, done they didn't hit you and you got an attack off. also agility

 

every class has a spell to counter vanish and agility isn't reliable even when maxed out

 

Well it's more reliable than defence in this case because of the low hp. Also are we talking about PvP or PvE?

 

PvP mainly. I'm basing it more off of HP than defense. The agility and intelligence on the specialist are the probably the most important ids besides the elemental damage.
