You made the statement that Pride for minorities is fine whereas people who celebrate being part of the majority group must have bigoted views (conflating nazi flags with white pride). I don't see any point in that attitude other than to divide people, which is the complete opposite purpose of pride events (at least the gay ones), where inclusivity is celebrated, and where we don't focus on who we are.

My problem is that the vast majority of these people touting white and hetero pride are bigots.

These movements are merely reactions, there would be no hetero pride without bigots getting at the non standard sexuality minority celebrating their non standard sexuality. There would be no white pride without racists looking for an excuse to legitamise racism.

There's a clear difference between a movement and an idea. The movement of white pride (ie: the people actually going out and celebrating it) is almost entirely composed of racists reacting to minority groups voicing their views more. The idea isn't dreadful, as I said, I'm fine with celebrating white culture or whatever. The idea is fine, but how it is executed (the movement) is what I have a problem with.

Anybody can listen to a point of view, it's a different thing to accept that though. You seemed to be unable to accept that there may be some logic behind being religious, but you read my arguments! The only argument you presented regarding religion itself that I refuted was Pascal's Wager, which, I gave my reasonning and my counter arguments to his, so unless you can counter my rebuttal, I don't see how my logic was flawed. Most religious people that I talk to disregard it.

 

NOW I'M NOT TRYING TO START ANY FIGHTS AND HOPEFULLY THIS DOESN'T GO TO ALL HELL, BUT HOPEFULLY I CAN SHED SOME INSIGHT AS TO WHY PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO HAVE STRAIGHT PRIDE.

Here's how I see it: gay pride was created to celebrate the fact that gays are no longer oppressed. Nowadays, gay pride MONTH is now seen as a day to celebrate the whole LGBT stuff and how they are STILL oppressed. (Which is not true AT FREAKING ALL.) Not only that, but also Black Lives Matter parades, Islam parades, and more. However, not only do these parades idolize the ideologies of their parades, but they (what seems to me, at least) demonize anyone who may oppose the ideas of these movements, or anyone who is associated with the type of people that once oppressed the people of these movements.
Coming from a white, cysgender, straight male, (what a credible source y'all) we feel like those who create and support these movements are, ultimately, hypocrites. These movements claim to be about total equality for all, and to end oppression for those who aren't equal. Yet, they demonize those who are not associated with them. LGBT groups attack straight people simply because they don't participate in the same actions as them, Black Lives Matter groups attack white people... and all the time we see how horrible it is to be white, cysgender, straight, or male. So if you are going to say you want to end oppression, why do you oppress others who are related to those who once oppressed you? Don't return fire with more fire, return it with logical facts.
I know I'm not very educated in this situation, or have any stats here, but my point is if you say you want to end oppression, don't oppress others. We feel the need to show it's also okay to be straight now, or white, or more.
Also, I feel the need to state that yes, white, cysgender, straight males and females do attack others. Even when we aren't attacked, we still do. That's unfortunate, and I'm sorry to say that this happens. But because of one group, do not assume that everyone like them is the same. I know that not all liberals or gays or blacks are not aggressive and want to kill those who oppose their views, and that many of them are kind-hearted people. It's sad to see that from both sides we have those who can't put away sorry little feelings and just be human and respect that everyone feels differently.

Hopefully I could shed some light from a somewhat-neutral side. IMO, all types of pride are total cancer and we should just stop acting so childish trying to up one another and just mind our own business.

To be honest I'm not just annoyed at how audacious your argument is @Stingy , I'm fucking insulted that you would ignore the suffering of thoudands of people across the globe because they were naturally born with a different sexuality. Nay, not just insulted, disgusted.
