In Mixed Feelings, Rensa asks us:
    • Rensa: Do you, for example - Know the name of your ultimate enemy? The reason for the war on your land?
Most of you will probably go: "oh yeah, of course I do! dern beast! orphion said so like 10 levels ago in RoL"

    But, consider:

Sure, Dern Beast is a big baddie in the story of Wynn.

Is he our ULTIMATE enemy, though?

Is Dern Beast the thing that opposes our very existence? Is our being tied to the War of the Realms? Is our goal as human beings simply to be a pawn in a war?

    No. I say no.

When Rensa talks about our "ultimate enemy", we are not discussing basic, "i agree/disagree with you" enemies. "Ultimate enemy" refers to an enemy past the material and corporeal; something abstract, a concept. Something we don't struggle with on the outside, but on the inside.

Not the War of the Realms, but instead the concept of war itself.
Not death or violence, but instead the concept of an end, and bringing an end.
Not the finish line on the race track, but the finish line in your mind.

So, what concept might Rensa be referring to?

We know that Rensa is a Corkian nationalist, a "patriot". Rensa believes that contact with foreign nations like Gavel will destroy Corkus.

So, my answer, as to what our "ultimate enemy", in Rensa's eyes is:

    The unknown.

We are curious, and we interact with the unknown, only to be destroyed. The outside should not be touched, and humanity should never outstep its bounds.

What will Gavel and Wynn bring to us? War, greed, corruption (not the light/dark corruption).

But, Rensa also asks us, "Do you... know... the reason for the war on your land?"

And yet again, that concept is the unknown.

The war and struggle against the Corruption in Wynn all began with miners uncovering the Nether Portal and released Corruption into the province. They mined too deep. They messed with things they should have not.

They were not cautious enough, and the unknown, the outside unleashed its wrath upon the world.

Rensa is trying to draw this connection. Wynn is in peril because miners came into contact with things outside of their world. Corkus, too, will be threatened when they meet with lands far away. Wars will rage when Corkus opens up.
    • Rensa: No? Didn't think so.
So our ultimate enemy is the unknown and the outside world, right? So Rensa is still wrong; we of course are too smart, right?

But, this idea leads to another point that drives the idea that our ultimate enemy, according to Rensa, is an abstract concept.

Yes, we can describe the unknown. But, it is a concept, made up in our minds. We can create words to describe it, but it is not a THING; it cannot have a name, not like Dern Beast or Darkness.

In the end, Rensa is right. We cannot know the name of our ultimate enemy; we can only comprehend it in our minds and hearts.

TL;DR: The "ultimate enemy" Rensa describes is an abstract concept, not something material or tangible.
