So This Server's Tp Seems A Little Familiar...

So... I logged onto Teldaria coz friends told me to...
then this happened
They had a custom resource pack so I was like, sure
Downloaded it, then got REALLY confused because I use wynnpack for personal use

I kid u not, this is not me just using the wynnpack or something
This was really fishy, so I decided to dig into the texture pack and see if credit was due, because I'm a loyal wynnnopeian

Annd no, they did not credit wynncraft in any shape or form
Though this is a pack with many other textures that are not wynn's...


Searched this up on the web and nothing came up about wynn's textures in this pack, which was actually kind of surprising

It is a "remix" of the wynn tp along with, I'm sure, other plagiarized textures, so idk if its copyright claim-able or even if its worth doing that.

Tl;dr - I get triggered that a server's tp has no credit due to where it should be, did a bit of research, overreacted a lot

For revenge we have to steal all of their original textures, it's only fair!

 

They should at least get punishment, even if minor. This is literally plagiarism, even though it's only a few textures.

 

We discovered that server ages ago, and in addition to using our RP, the water textures are from the Jolicraft texture pack which I recognised (yay to it being popular back in 2012)

Plagiarism cases like this aren’t new. A few months ago we found a Turkish server using our custom item models and sprites without permission.

And what do we do about it? Nothing. It will cost us too much trouble to go out of the way and hopelessly email and punish these copycats. Servers that copy other popular servers’ art, textures, or even the map for their own use show they do not have the adequate resources to fully survive on their own, and will (most of the time) eventually shut down. That’s why we don’t do anything about these cases. We rather focus on our own goals than go after these plagiarizers, because we already have a sizeable enough sphere of influence where players know its our own RP and not theirs.

 

Don't forget that it's an instant perma ban if you mention Wynn around the staff!

Interesting... normally I would comment some joke about Mac N Cheese, but I am genuinely interested in this server, I want to see how it compares, is it worth trying out?

 

One time I was muted on some mmorpg server for naming myself "playwynn". One time I went on some really bad rpg server and they said wynncraft is dead because the wiki hadn't been updated in months. I translated a page like 2 days before that.

 

It’s a survival server with custom items for the most part, no quests or dungeons from what I’ve seen/played, just survival
