So How Does Damage Work?

So I recently got back into Wynncraft after a long break and all the new content is a bit overwhelming. One thing I don't get is how the new damage works.
I can see there is red and white damage over the enemies when I attak.
So is the red damage the overall damage I am doing?
Or is it the red and white damage added together?
If someone could clear this up for me that would be great!

 

The icons when you hit an enemy stand for different elemental damage types, which are determined by your weapon. The heart is neutral, the green icon is earth, the yellow icon is thunder, the blue icon is water, the red fuzzy-looking icon is fire, and the white icon is air. And yes, they are added together.

 

White damage? Your weapon probably has the element air. That's what it's called. There's both fire & neutral damage & with your details can't tell which you're talking about. Also, the damages are separate. But they make damage together.

 

Yeah it does have the air element. So if it says 46 nuetral damage and 10 air damage I am doing 56 all together?

Well 56 before melee/spell damage boosts, elemental damage boosts, and elemental defense/weaknesses on the mob are applied, but you've got the right idea.
