Should Strength Increase Earth Damage, Bug Confirmed

I have these stats and there total bonuses should look like:
100(Min Earth Damage)x1.625(Strenght All Damage Buff)x1.625(Strength Earth Damage Buff)x 1.14( % Earth Damage Buff)x1.36( % Melee Damage)=409.4 Min Earth Damage
So the least I should do with Earth is 410 right?

Then how did this happen? I have gotten lower but I kept missing then during testing.
Am I missing something, should it be like this?

 

Strength increases earth damage, and the other "damage increase" is just neutral, so that doesn't apply here. Take out one of the 1.625's. Also, you did include the 36% melee damage in you calculation but didn't actually write it in here, suggest editing that.

Ends up being 100 x 1.625(str points to earth) x 1.14(earth% dam) x 1.36(melee% dam) = about 251 minimum.

 

That can not be right then dexterity would only effect neutral with that logic

according to his math and screenshot, he is saying that earth damage is melee damage and therefore, should be buffed by strength.

It does not do this for a reason. Far as I know, strength applies a % buff to earth AND melee damage, whereas melee damage is ONLY BASIC DAMAGE. I personally do not understand why the builds work this way, but eh, you get what you get.

No it is not, because the earth damage I did in the picture is far less then what I calculated the minimum be should if it Strength did buff Earth Damage twice as it said it should. This shows something is not applying. Due to the amount that it is off, the only multiplier that is not applying would have to be One of th Strength buffs. Assuming that Strength is working on all damage types, that would leave the bonus Earth Damage Buff as the Multplier that is not working.

 

I don't think you're making your point clear to Selvut. What I said initially is correct, in this case your Strength will only increase your earth damage. Strength does 2 things; increase your Earth Damage and also increase your Neutral Melee Damage.

 

Where did you get this information from?
I just want @Selvut283 to say how Strength should behave, but I think you are wrong, although I don't have proof, I am fairly certain that Strength buffs all damage from all elements, melee and spells alike. Dexterity does this too, but you have a chance to double all damage. After all you can crit on a spell and melee, and why would they have Dexterity be superior to Strength? I know that only me, you, or @orange0401 can be correct, but what I want is Selvunt to describe what Strength should effect so the three of us can know what to expect from Strength.

 

Strength increases all damage dealt by all sources(doubly so for earth) by X%.

 

Ok if my calculations are correct then it is not buffing earth, so a bug is present

 

I wonder how long this bug has been there? People would have complained if their weapon got weaker. Could it have been the since Gavel?
If so I give up...

 

Dex is more random than strength

 

It has been confirmed to be a bug.
I even did an additional check to make sure that it was doing the damage it said it did...
