Should I Continue With My Class Or Restart?

Hello all! I have quit Wynncraft for about 2 years now, but I am starting to get back into it. When I quit, they just recently realized Gavel (I quit right before doing the Hive, and I have already done ToA and Bob.) my question is should I continue playing with my level 83 mage or just restart with a new class to relearn everything? Is there a lot I missed. I already read all the changelogs. Btw, is there a currently OP class in the game right now. For example, when I played it was mage with meteor spam.

 

You should definitely restart, as a lot has changed in these two years you have been away. Unless you're very picky with builds, then there is no one OP class, and you should pick the one you find the most fun. Have fun rediscovering Wynn!

 

Ok thank you for the advice! I am leaning towards archer or warrior. Do you have a preference of either of the two?

 

Archer is the best for fighting bosses
Mage is the best for quality of life like parkour or just levelling
You can continue until maybe level 95 cause after that there’s no real content except boss fights or you can start over. Your choice rly. I think there’s nothing rly serious that changed for 2 years, but I may be wrong. Learning on the existing class may not be worse than learning on a new class.

I haven't tried either of the classes, as I'm still on my first playthrough, but from what I've heard, archer is more fun as it forces you to learn the enemy's patterns and dodge accordingly due to its little defense.

Ok so if I do restart I’ll play archer. However, should I restart? Is learning Corkus, the professions, and the powders worth restarting? Also, are the wands Ethereal and Pure still good? Those are the ones I used to use.

 

Restarting is completely up to you. If you don't want to lose your progress, you can just go back, and complete the missing content with your higher level class. Professions are completely optional, and there's only a bit of content explaining it in the tutorial. Powders are rather simple, they come in tiers 1-6, from each of the elements, the higher tier the powder, the more effective that powder is, and on a weapon, having 2 or more tier 4+ powders of the same element will unlock a special bonus relative to that element, same with armor. (This explains it a lot better https://wynncraft.gamepedia.com/Powders) As for Corkus, the first quest that takes you there, "The Envoy Part I" starts at level 83, so you wouldn't be missing any Corkus content. Restarting is completely up to you, but I probably wouldn't.

As for your questions regarding the weapons, yes. Pure and Ethereal are good wands for their level, but as you level up, you're gonna want to upgrade to some other wands.

 

A lot of the map has been changed, along with many quests getting revamped, so by starting a new playthrough, you would be able to properly experience these changes at the correct level. Corkus is a much smaller province than Wynn or Llevigar, but if you wished to experience Corkus and Legendary Islands immediately, then you should continue with your current profile. Professions are optional and grindy, and powders are a very minor aspect. So depending on whether you want to experience the improved map and quests or Corkus quicker, you would respectively pick a new class or stick to your current one. As far as how good the weapons are, I'm not sure, sorry about that.

 

Learning game mechanics from econ update doesnt necessarily need a new class. Actually it’s better to continue with mage. Elements are stupidly simple, powders are just simple, crafting is unnecessary and not recommended to drill into if you are just the casual player. Just finish your mage, doesn’t take a very long time
For weapons, use bismuthinite. Ethereal and pure and definitely usable at your level, and I’m using a pure(lol) at level 100

 

Ok so typically Bismuthinite is the best wand? Also, how do I know whether my quests are in Wynn, Gavel, or Corkus

Or see your quest book. The quest book typically tells which city, but envoy starts in selchar while the quest is in corkus

 

BTW, pure is currently worth a stack of le (depending on it's ID's) and I would definitely choose mage unless you think you are quick thinking, in which case choose archer. Archers are the best in terms of all-around mobility (which is helpful as the map is UUGE) and mages are the best for spell-oriented people as they have the heal spell which is great until you run out of Mana.

 

Ok so I haven't read any of the replies but don't bother with picking a class. Yes, one class can be better at a playstyle than the other but if you just pick a random class the playstyle will come to you. Anyway, try to pick a class that you haven't played before cause that will make it more fun, cheers

 

Gavel was released 3 years and 10 months ago. Hardly "just recently"!!

I wouldn't suggest restarting, I remember playing back in 2015 after a massive break and finding out that you could indentify an item more than once! (Now removed) It would be much easier to keep the class, maybe start another one but don't delete it!

this is an old thread already but if youre still wondering, i recommend restarting and picking whichever class you find interesting. theyre all good in their own ways
