(Just wanted to preface this post with a warning that there are spoilers for a unique secret in the Silent Expanse. I’m sure a majority of people know it now, but, I want those who haven’t seen it to still be surprised for when it happens. If you do not wish to be spoiled, click off now) <:3)—

I’ve been lootrunning a lot, and, thinking of challenge ideas, as well. I started thinking about how I haven’t seen that funny blue dawg in a bit, and, how it sure does take a while to find the guy. I started thinking about how it can show up during lootruns, and, how lucky I’ve been to not have that happen since it was released. Then, I started thinking about how I kinda wished it showed up, just so I could try fighting it with cracked out stats…

    Boom! Goofy idea just spawned:

Have The Fool Eater try and lead or take you into its den as a random event.

    Idea 1:
A random event—make it rarer than the actual Fool Eater—that has it show up near that Immolation inspired defend challenge, near the witness church. Once the challenge is started, or finished, its model should be stalking you, from afar, then run off to its’ little cave behind the witness church.

If you follow it, there will be a small white challenge circle within the cave itself, where a new challenge will be started. It’ll have no text appear on the screen. Suddenly, the screen will grow a bit dimmer, the ground will shake, and you’ll fall through into a huge den. This is where you’ll fight it, where you’ll be rewarded with the normal drops, but no challenge chest. It’s an entirely ignorable challenge, while also being relegated to a very specific area, so it doesn’t end up happening too often.

    Idea 2:
If it doesn’t fit as a random event, maybe there could be a distinction between normal Fool Eater and Lootrun Fool Eater. (This ideas way more far fetched and goofy, but, for a secret like Fool Eater, it seems appropriate.)

This form of Fool Eater will remain the exact same as normal fool eater. You run around, catch it in its specific spots to summon it, then wait for the fight. However, instead of the normal fight, Fool Eater will jump you, knocking you out, and take you to its’ den. You’ll wake up, timer froze, and unable to move. Suddenly, 2 higher-ranked members of the lootrun syndicate will be running into the den to find you. They’ll have this to say:

    “Solider! Thank goodness you’re alright!”

“We were patrolling our usual path, keeping an eye on you, jus’in case you fell, when that thing up and took you to this den!”

“We’ve seen it watching, time to time, creepy as all hell, but it’s never outright took anyone before!”

“We’ve gotta get you out of here, before that thing comes back—“

Suddenly, the ground will shake, the lights will grow dim, and Fool Eater will jump clean through the opening of the den, killing the two syndicate members, knocking you through the floor, into an arena, ready to fight. And, just to add to the overall “vibe” of the encounter, this event cannot happen more than once.

(I don’t want this to be a suggestion, since I think it’s kind of a long shot, in terms of implementation. It’s supposed to be this very specific secret, and, there’s nothing wrong with leaving it how it is. However, I still wanted feedback on the idea, as I believe that it’s unique, especially with how few random lootrun events there really are.)

Anyway, feel free to glazer or hater, I just like adding to this forum page.

eh. it's kind of just meant to be a bit of rare secret content. I don't want to put too much focus on it, and having a challenge or lootrun event centered around it on top of the already existing encounter feels a bit much

It’s probably the biggest issue I have with an idea like it, so, I’m not surprised on your response. I hope you’re not opposed to adding more to the secret, later on, though, as I genuinely love the concept and implementation. It’s so mysterious and “out of place” with the overall aesthetic of SE, making it such a cool find.
