    I noticed that the refining machines were still around, does refining anything matter anymore? Bonus XP or smthing?

    They only exist to process materials gathered before the update that made them pre-processed.

    Maybe they could be used to upgrade the tier of the resource, say you combine like 10 tier 1 for a teir 2 and 10 tier 2s for a tier 3?

    Therefore refining the quality of the resource?
