Red Triangle In Upper Right Of Screen, What The....

Today I have three things going on, I am having trouble logging on in 1.9 and can't in 1.89 at all, it says server exception, yeah, i didn't write it down...
I am getting a red sentence in chat "You don't have permission for this area". It has happened when hitting a button to open a secret door and when clicking on a loot chest (neither action succeeded).
Now there is a downward facing somewhat rounded red triangle in the upper right of my screen.
I also noticed three symbols, two eyes (?) and a helix in the very top right at the choose your class screen, you can just see them in the black background.
Please Oh Mighty Salted, it is snowing and I have nothing else to do but clean the cats litter box (sob).

 

The second thing is easy to fix, just don't open chests or press buttons with a weapon in your hand (they are retextured blocks).
The others? No clue what's that about. U got some screenshots?

 

You probably have a mod that displays buffs and debuffs on the screen without having the need to open the inventory, or you have 1.9.
If so, then the red triangle is caused by the weapon's attack speed multiplier. The current system uses buffs to make a weapon attack slower or faster: red triangle = Mining Fatigue, whereas green triangle = Haste.

 

It's just the new 1.9 thing, all potion effects are displayed in the top right corner area, that's your attack speed
If your not using 1.9, then you may now panic.

 

How can one not know about this.

 

I have only been playing Wynn, not Vanilla, for the last couple months. Only used 1.9 to log on today.
All is clear.
Except I still can't log on in 1.89 and horses aren't working for me in 1.9. I guess I'll be walking.
