Reclaiming the House

I am currently doing the quest "Reclaim the House" and am at the point where you have to kill the mobs raiding the camp. I have done so three times now but still nothing happens. When trying to interact with the NPC nothing happens either. I have looked through several threads on this quest but none of them have had answers which helped me.

Update: I've been stuck here for so long that the NPC has clipped outside the map.

Update 2: The NPC has gone outside my render distance. Pretty sure she fell off the map

Update 3: I appear to have located an invisible entity which is not taking damage near the middle of the camp

Update 4: there is now a second person here, stuck with me

Update 5: I'm alone again

At least the weird entity is still here. Might just be me but I think it got bigger
or maybe it moved
