Real Mythic Chances

This was a post I just made on a thread, but I thought I'd make my own post for it.

The forums says 0.0007% chance from a mob, but this is actually incorrect. On the day Gavel was released, there was a bug which showed item chances in chat, and the chances for items actually chance every couple of seconds.

I have a screenshot of what I mean here, but I don't know the chances for chests:




As you can see, Mythic chances are actually much higher than 0.0007%. This image shows mythics having almost 26x as much chance as people thought they did to drop. Legendaries are also 5x rarer than Rares, and you'll get a normal about every 15-40 mobs you kill.

Could the forums be tricking us to make mythics seem rarer than they actually are?

Maybe I guess, but 0.018% is still a fricken low chance xD

Yeah, I've had a few of these images since January and I thought I'd share them. Not sure if anyone else has images like these, but it only happened on Gavel release I think.

Ah k, it still shows that chances vary dramatically though, they're not always constantly 0.0007% etc.

i recommend moving to gavel or into a underground bunker.

 

Salted talked about buffing the rarity after people found them so quickly after the update. So this is likely the outdated chances, seeing this was a bug from when gavel first came out.

 

@Selvut283 any confirmation on whether these chances are correct or not? Not sure if you know though, maybe only salted does.

 

Salted himself said it was a 0.0007% chance, destroying my 5 minutes of math determining that they were closer to 0.014% or something

 

And how did you get this up?

 

No idea.

 

If this is accurate, then the drop rates may be in a timer, which would mean that the A: x could be an in game clock for the odds

Salted buffed the mythic chances about a month after gavel came out so that is probably the cause.

 

Well they did add more mythics so the chance to gind one is bigger now
