Random question about Ability Tree Nodes

What was the logic for some of the ability requirements on some of the nodes, specifically for the spells?

For example:

Why does this node require Bash?


But this one doesn't, even though they both mention Bash? Actually, why do they "require" Bash anyway, considering you literally cannot progress in the Warrior skill tree if you do not get Bash with your first Ability Point????
