Quests With Friends

I have a friend that recently started the game, and I wanted to play through some of the early game quests with him without creating a new class. The problem is, some quests such as the Sewers of Ragni take you to special locations you can't access outside of the quest. Is there any way I could go with them to those locations or do I have to make a new class?

 

You might be able to go into some portals if it's things you walk into.
Not sure if that works though
