Questions I Have On Duped Items

Recently i have seen a lot of threads about duped items, and how they are hurting the economy, but i'm really curious about what they exactly are, and who started this and how, my highest class is 60 so i don't get so affected by mithyc duping and etc, since all my gear comes from monster.

So my questions are :

-Duped Items are items that have been duplicated throught a glitch.
How they affect the economy? Thanks Glitch496 and LordMuttonChops
-The more of an item there is, less it will cost, but mods are taking care of it.
How to identify a duped item? Thanks LordMuttonChops
-If there is 2 items with the same ID (They share the same stats)
-If there is a Legendary or Mythic on the ground DON'T pick it up, because there is a large chance that the items is duped.
-A random player giving you mythics or legendary for no reason
Warning : even if you didn't duped an item, if you have one, you will get banned, so throw it out.
Who started this, and how? (not trying to do it myself, i'm just curious)


No one has to explain to me, but i think it will help players that don't know what is a duped items, so they don't get "scammed", if someone answer my questions i will edit this and post the response under the question.

 

A duped item is an item that someone duplicated somehow.

If there's more on the market, the price will start to fall.

If you happen to see a stack of mythic wands then you know some weird shit just happened. Also the IDs are going to be the same for duped items.

Duped items are items that players abuse a glitch to create more of the same item out of nothing.

They shouldn't affect the economy heavily as it's not particularly difficult for moderators to identify duped items.

If you think an item is duped ask a mod about it.

The more of it there is, The harder it is to track and the less it costs, Imagine if people could make bread out of thin air, The price of bread would drop and it'd be... Basically worthless, But the situation is under control and as for now it's pretty easy to identify duped items so no worries.

No one knows who started this yet, And it's be better to not say how he started it to prevent future duping...

If you didn't understand yet, Duping or even having duped items could get you banned, So throw away the ones you have as fast as possible (Contact a moderator first to make sure they're actually duped though).

Here are signs to show you an item is duped:

-Two or more items with the exact same IDs.
-More than 1 "Legendary/Mythic" items from the same type just laying on the ground (If you find only one it might still be duped, But it could also be just someone who accidentally dropped his).
-A random player you don't know giving you a Mythic or an item that is very hard to get for no reason.

What if you just happened to get a mythic from a newly killed mob, and it unfortunately JUST SO HAPPENS to coincidentally have the same IDs as the duped batch?

 

Then that thing either has one or two ID's and you got really lucky or you should buy a lottery ticket because HOLY SHIT that luck

Wait how do you tell if a horse is duped? I got my white horse like couple mounths ago in a drop party, but i dont know if its duped. I dont want to be banned like i was last time for accendently picking up some le.

 

This duped thing started not so long ago, and if you have the horse for months now, and didn't get banned it's very likely it isn't duped. (you can also talk to a mod and ask if the item is duped)
