Question On Skill Point Usage

I'm around a week old to this server and am currently playing a level 49 mage. First off, I was just wondering if there was any kind of "Formula" to go off of in terms of things like the Intelligence mana reduction, or the damage mitigation from Defense.

Secondly, how many skill points are there total currently? I've seen people mention things like 200 skill points but I haven't gotten a solid answer yet.

Thirdly, in correspondence to my first question. How many points are required in INT to have at least a 50% mana reduction? I currently have around 28 points invested into the skill, and I see the percentage says 50.3%, but I'm not noticing any difference.

Last but not least, at near end-game, how many points into Defense is considered good?

That was made by smart people who know about cubic functions.

 

Yes, it is 200. Each level-up gives the player 2 Skill Points to use. The maximum level a player can get right now is 101, but that would take your life to get to.
And about Defense. I personally use enough to get 50% Defense just so I don't get one-shot by mobs when XP Grinding. It depends what build you want to use though.
