Quest Prerequisite?

    When I attempted to enter the slime cave for the quest "Green Gloop", The starting NPC rejected me going in the cave with the message: "Hey you! Don't go in there yet!" I'm not sure what I need to get into the slime cave, and I have completed every quest up to this one with the exception of "The Tower of Amnesia" and "Craftmas Chaos". If anyone could give me a reason on why I can't get in there, that would be much appreciated.
