For a TL;DR ... Scroll all the way down.

Just a quick question. How is damage for powder specials calculated?

Here are the powder specials for T6 powders

    Earth (Quake): 415% Damage
    Thunder (Chain Lightning): 240% Damage
    Water(Curse): 210% Damage Boost
    Fire(Courage): 125% Damage, 150% Damage Boost
Wind (Wind Prison): 180% Damage Boost

Here is what I think ...
If it says "Damage," then it is calculated based on the basic attack damage. Does not apply to spells, since it is one time use so I assume it is calculated off the weapon damage. For example, 100 neutral will result in 415 damage from quake.
If it says "Damage Boost", it increases damage in general. Since it is not a single "spell," it probably amplifies damage during the duration.

Why do I want to know?

I intend to create a poison build. Lets say it has 10 neutral damage and 1000 poison damage per second. For powders that only give a "spell," they would be pointless since Quake = 41.5 damage, Chain Lightning = 24 damage, Courage (only damage part) = 12.5.

Only the other hand, if damage boosts increase damage of things in general, including poison, it will be much more useful. Curse= 2100 Poison Extra, Courage= 1500 Poison Extra, Wind Prison = 1800 Poison Extra.

I am not completely sure if this is how damage for powder specials are calculated. This is purely a guess based on research and my intuition. Based on my hypothetical understanding of Powder Specials, my current choice for powders to amplify my poison damage would be and should be water powders.

NOTE: There might be someone who will state that I should test this out myself. However I cannot. Why? Simply because I do not have access to such powders nor can I get access to them (yet). I played Wynncraft in the past, but it was before the elemental powders. I recently decided to play Wynncraft again, and discovered it is very different. I have a completely new Minecraft account, so I am fairly low level right now, with no access to any sort of T4+ powders.

    Thanks.

TL;DR: What powder special would amplify the damage of poison the most? I do not know due to my lack of understanding on how powder special damages are calculated.
