Hey inhabitants of the sixth dimension, last night I had a terrifying experience,I felt steps and saw shadows,I was awake in my bed but I could not move, the shadow came to being next to my bed and looked like a horrifying version of a devil and it just stared at me,sleep paralysis from what I know your brain thinks you are still sleeping but your eyes can move around and you can close them,if you are lucky you fall asleep before your brain plays a horrifying prank on you,by grabing a scary forgotten image or noise that you though you completely forgot about and brings it in form of hallucination...

So,I would enjoy reading your experiences with this fenomenom, and if you haven't experienced it,don't worry it happens once in an avarege human life, this is my second...

    :smilingimp:

If you never experienced it,tell us about a nightmare you've had like falling awake or shouting away

I used to have sleep paralysis all the time as a kid, but I never hallucinated anything...

    ....

Is it bad that nowadays I try to trigger sleep paralysis on purpose but it never works?

While on holiday, I remember experiencing sleep paralysis.

What sometimes happens is I put parts of my body into a state where they're hard to move, and think they're paralysed. I of course can eventually move them. When I was chilling in my bed on holiday, this happened to me, but something was wrong. I tried to move my arm, but there was no feeling. I tried again, still nothing. I pushed as hard as I could to move any body part, I was panicking at this point. I tried to call to my mother, I couldn't move my lips, I was stuck, immobile. My memory gets hazy at this point, I think after a while it wore off and I jumped up, almost crying. It was nonetheless a scary experience and I'd love to do it again. Fun times.

I have had two cases of sleep paralysis.
Isnt it where your body is asleep, your brain is in the sleep mode or whatever but you're fully conscious about your surroundings?

Anyway, the first case I opened my eyes to see a white figure above my bed. I closed my eyes because I was too scared, and a few moments later I felt like I was being strangled.

The second case is very... creepy.
There is a view on my sister's bedroom from mine, and when I guess I fell into the paralysis, I saw a man running out of their bedroom - towards me. He was doing it in a somewhat violent manner too. I closed my eyes when he actually got close(ish) and didnt open until a few moments later. As I opened my eyes again, I saw my mum sitting beside me on the bed, just gently stroking me. Her experssion was blank though, I couldnt talk and it seemed like neither could she. She seemed very monotone in what she was doing, she just kept a straight face. Straight away I noticed that something was wrong, as I didnt call for attention for her to appear and I didnt even hear her enter the room, hell I just saw a dude run at me and next thing I see is my mother creepily caressing my arm.

Anyway, I soon felt pain in my leg and it turns out she was sat on it (like not exactly fully sat on my leg but it was enough for me to feel something). I could not speak to tell her about it, I could not make any sounds in fact. I could not move anything so moving my leg wasnt an option either, so we were both staring at each other. Except, I was staring in fear and she was just staring with an expressionless face.

I cant tell you exactly how it ended, as I cant remember the details. But I remember I was struggling to scream, yell or whatever. I think I just closed my eyes or something, but she disappeared after a while and it was morning again.

I can also say that the first one I experienced, was intended. I was curious. The second was natural.

This is no longer scary for me as I have it about once a week. At first it was scary but now it's just another thing K have to deal with. It's rarer for me to NOT know that I'm dreaming when I am. I have the mind of an awake person while I'm asleep. With the added bonus of having your memory intact, you can not only do what ever you wanted to, but you can remember it.

When you are in sleep paralysis, you are not looking with your eyes, rather the room you "see" yourself to be in is nothing more than your imagination. Being able to instantly know the difference helps a ton.
