Poison + Melee Damage

I'm just wondering if it's a bug, or an intended feature, but when constantly attacking an enemy, the poison will never add any damage unless you stop attacking for a moment and let it run its course over 3 seconds.

I would have thought that the poison should still do damage every second alongside the melee damage.

 

...it does.
Like, I can hit something with a poison weapon and then switch to my normal weapon and the poison keeps doing damage in the background for all 3 seconds, as intended.

 

When I'm constantly hitting an enemy with my poison weapon though, it doesn't show any numbers popping up for the damage from the poison. All I see is my pure weapon damage numbers

 

You just dont see it cause Jumla is lazy, anyways WHY ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR CAGE.
