Please Help - Uncontrollable Server Lag

Hey,
I have been playing on Wynn for about 3 years now, and I took a break a long time ago. The main reason being that I lagged uncontrollably. After coming back recently to experience the new content updates, the server still lags like CRAZY. The music is broken up, combos have a 2-5 second delay, just general server lag. My PC is not the problem, I can run Star Citizen, so I think I can run Minecraft.

What I don't understand is that my friend has the exact same internet plan as me, and experiences NO lag. I don't lag on any other server OR game for that matter. I have tried everything basic, I reinstalled Minecraft, restarted my PC, etc. But to no avail. The problem just persists, and I don't understand why.

I would very much appreciate some help in getting this issue resolved, because this Minecraft server is the best MMORPG ever designed in my opinion, and I would love to be able to play it lag-free.

Do you have optifine?

 

I don't think you understand I have been playing on and off for 3 years
If you read the post you would understand that I am the only one I have seen who is experiencing this issue
Trust me, if there was an easy solution I would have found out by now(I think :P.)

Well I lag a lot as well and using optifine does actually help a bit for me. With Wynn's new updates coming out and all there's more stuff that does cause lag but sometimes you gotta get used to it.

Maybe try going on optifine and fixing your settings and turn some things off to reduce it?

 

Ok,I will try installing Optifine. I have had it before and I'm pretty sure it didn't help, but it can't hurt. Thanks for responding though, I honestly thought I would have to wait a week before I got a reply XD

Internet, but my friend has the same Wifi as me and experiences no lag

 

Also if you're playing on 1.9 or higher I'd suggest using 1.8.9 because it runs more smoother on there

 

Yeah, I am already using 1.8.9 as I have heard the server is built around it.

 

Alright. Well I hope getting optifine does help you as it has for me. Just remember to go in its settings and turning off some settings to try and get less lag

Oh, if optifine doesn't help and it's actually your wifi then maybe try resetting it and give it a break then come back to it? Ive never had internet lag before so I really don't know how to give a correct solution for you but what I said can be an idea maybe?

 

I have taken a break for about a year, I am just now coming back to Wynn. It's not my internet I don't think. Every other game and server runs just fine with no lag

 

For the break I meant like take a break for a few mins or a couple hours then return to your computer xd

As I said earlier up in the thread, wynn does have a lot of new things running meaning it does cause lag here and there. So just try the optifine thing and fix the settings to reduce them as much as possible.

 

This occurs every time I play, as in if I have just woken up after 12 hours of my PC being off.
Taking a break won't do anything

I really wish I could get a server mod or something to help out, this sucks. I have asked around everywhere I can think of and all I get is "restart Minecraft"

have you ever played after the Gavel Update? Loading chunks might make the lag for the first logins.

 

It's server sided. Not client sided. I have brought this up a LOT
I played long before the Gavel update, and the lag was always this bad. I just want to fix it finally.

I don't honestly understand why I am having this problem, it makes absolutely no sense.

 

i said that that it's server sided. loading chunks sometimes also made lag for me. Is your computer old or virused? That might also cause lag because it can't handle the builds.

 

No, I built it literally a week ago. I am 100% sure it isn't my PC. I can run any game at over 100fps
