Planning a new run, Crafting only...

As the title suggests I was planning on starting a new character that focuses entirely on JUST crafting gear, no purchased gear or anything that I dont make myself; my question however is, 'Is this even doable for a character and make it to the max lvl without dying once?'

Obviously adding the 'without dying once' clause makes this more of an ironman type run, so I wanted to hear from the community and maybe get some help building this out, I will be using a modpack for this as thats how I have played the game for the longest time lol but strictly no cheats or exploits, This is meant to punish me.

Step 1: get any class to level 50
step 2: create a new class
step 3: enable the "Craftsman" Challenge mode for that class
this is exactly what you asked for and has been in the game since 2019
many ppl have done it

 

I haven't played for some time so this is news to me! I appreciate the info, my idea was a character from level 1 only using items crafted, I wasn't sure if there was any specific hiccups others have come across that may make this run impossible or just a pain to successfully do.
I have one character already at 50 so I'll give this a try, I appreciate your help!

 

I would say probably yes, but I would caution you; probably stay away from raids and grinding, and if you won't at least make sure all gear is fully repaired before doing so.
