Since school is now a thing again, I've taken a few steps away from Wynncraft. I'm still going to be doing the WynnTheory channel and continue with Wars of Wynn, but I thought I needed something I could do on and off, when those two projects were in the works.

And I decided on "Wynncraft Photography". Basically, I take some cool screenshots, but I edit them. For my first album, I thought I'd do one on Ragni. It's where every player's journey begins, and I tried to contrast the grandeur of the city with it's simplicity.

For each shot, I'll write a few sentences on how I made it and some little details you might not have noticed. Enjoy!

Here's the album on flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmQBERXM

Refer to the album to know what images I am talking about. They are in order, so it should be easy to follow.

    Ragni Front Gate Focus 1:
For the first shot, I wanted to leave everything pretty simple. No filters or anything like that. You may notice the lack of shaders in these shots, but that's because I feel like it takes some of the authenticity away. I want these to stay as Wynncraft screenshots, not as shader advertisements. I cropped the image quite heavily here because I wanted to really focus on the city entrance, and not be distracted by the plains.

Ragni Front Gate Wide Shot 1:

This shot, on the other hand, was edited very carefully. I used the "vanilla" filter, but let a little colour creep in. I added a vignette to really contrast the lights from the city, and I think this shot is one of my favourite from the album. It really shows how in the utter darkness of the world, Ragni is a beacon of hope and light.

Ragni Front Gate Extreme Low 3:
This one is actually completely different from the original, and is much better. I tilted it to give the moon a more eccentric path. I really like this one. I was going to do a full moon, but a crescent looks a lot better for some reason - less in your face.

    Ragni Main Street Aerial 3:
This is another favourite. I gave it a “postcard look”, with a light-heavy vignette and high colour saturation. I had to crop a lot of the tree in the bottom left, but I think I did reasonably well. The escape spell won my confidence today.

    Ragni Arch Close 1:
A nice daytime shot, I think the tilt really helps this photo. With no angle, it seemed a bit out of proportion. Other than that (and a little cropping), I didn’t need to change a thing.

    Memorial Low Quake 1:
I found that quake pro FOV can be really good for vertical-angle shots like this one. This memorial was built for a CT member – Santacuzz – who sadly committed suicide. This image is dedicated to him, and may he rest in peace. I never knew him personally, but he was supposedly a great CT member before he sadly took his life.

    Ragni Rooftops 1:
Dang, I’m happy with this one. Because of the tudor style of some of the houses, I decided to drain the colour to make it look like it was a picture from the olden days. However, the carpets still have a touch of colour, which I think adds so much as opposed to this being a simple black and white image. I also added a barely noticeable vignette, which helps accent the edges.

    Ragni Towerpath Close 1:
This image caused me a lot of grief. Originally I was trying to get the fire lamppost dead centre of the two towers (no LOTR pun intended), but it ended up being too difficult. I actually added a very subtle filter to this, it shows most on the grass. I still don’t know if this should be in the album, but it took me so much time I thought I should put it here.

    Sewer Quake 3:
The last shot of the album. If I say so myself, I think I nailed this one. I brought the colour down slightly and added a black vignette – it creates a stationary dolly zoom (movie makers will know what that is), that really works!

I had a lot of fun working on this. Just a few things to mention:

    1) You can use this in any way you want which does not make money. If you show these in a monetized YouTube video or something, contact me and I will arrange what to do.

    2) I made all of these images on my PC, with no extra programs. You can do this without installing anything except Minecraft.

    Hope you enjoyed!

Did you use ReplayMod to take these, or something else?

Nope. It's possible to do the cool angles in the document editor that comes with your typical PC.
