    The Sixth House

This home is the smallest in the village, and seems to be the house of a lone man.
Unfortunately, i am unsure of this man's job in the village society.
No clues lead to any jobs of the sort.

    The Seventh House

This is the only other house in which no body is found, leaving me to believe this person escaped as well.
This may have been a place for travelers to stay or the like, somewhat like a tavern.
However, there is still 1 more area of interest in this village.

    Emerald Mine

This mine is one of the few places i have seen Emeralds in their ore form, a rare sight indeed!
However, i also believe that these emeralds were the reason this village fell.
My theory shall help to explain that.

    Theory E
Unlike most areas of the desert, Dry Zombies are plentiful in the village, generally in groups of 4 or 5.
This leads me to believe that unlike the small normal emeralds that people carry, Ore Emeralds seems to act like a beacon and source of light to the Corrupted.
I think that upon exposure, these ores act like a giant homing device, leading mobs to them.
It is possible that this is also true of liquid emeralds and emerald blocks.
It is also possible this is why the towns are being attacked!
The corrupted want their emeralds back, and will stop at nothing to do it, as this village shows.
However, it is also likely that the emeralds have spread across the land to the point where they are on every player, luring mobs to attack.
If this is true, than there is a purpose to the emeralds that players carry, other than for being used as mere cash.
They may be of great value to the Corrupted.
    The question is.......why?
Regardless, it is very important this village is remembered, and why it is necessary to stop the corruption, to prevent such a brutal genocide from happening to any other village.

Also, have you ever thought of using smooth lighting to take pictures for your data files? Or have you already been doing that, and this is different?

The skulls in most houses look like they've been neatly placed there, like someone picked them up. Also, one of the houses has a dead bush plant, but others have living plants.

There's more to this story methinks

My theory: It is a mining village, used as a home for miners on their mining expedition. To make money they probably sent riches to their local capital, Almuj, the desert city. It is logical to assume they died because of corrupted mobs, it is also a good thought to think that perhaps they had more miners. Maybe some escaped to Almuj.

It is entirely possible some survived.
Due to the carnage, i fear the number of survivors was low.

Depends, that entire cavern was probably an old mine. So there was probably a lot more of them. I personally have been there, it is near the abandoned barracks right?
