Build Pacific Point

Build created for the Planetminecraft "Skyscraper" solo project contest.

Time taken: 8 days, 2-3 hours per day

"A lone jeep sped down Route 101. Emblazoned on its sides are the words "BRAZILIAN NATIONAL GUARD" - though it is hard to make out due to the significant wear and tear. The vehicle and its occupants have come a long way - nearly 5 years on the road and pitstops at various cities to resupply. The pandemic has really taken its toll on mankind: at Caracas, infected bodies littered the streets. The Panama Canal in Panama City is jammed with half-sunken cruise liners and supertankers that will never reach the open sea. Mexico City offered no respite either: the city was practically levelled, the result of bombing runs conducted by the air force in an attempt to curb the raging global pandemic. By the time they entered the US and reached Los Angeles, nature had already claimed back most of the cityscape and not a single soul was in sight.

One of the generals in the jeep sat straight and took a breather. Dusk has started to set in, and they had departed from the ruins of San Francisco two hours ago. This group of people only had one wish: to locate any signs of human life and hopefully work together to establish a community. They are starting to doubt the possibility of any civilization here in the west coast, so they hope to eventually get as far as-

Wham!

The sudden harsh beam of light blinded the driver momentarily, causing the vehicle to screech to a stop. Above them circled an attack helicopter with US Army insignia. They haven't even seen it coming let alone heard it: it just...appeared. After a few minutes, the chopper began heading in the direction that the Brazilians were heading, so naturally they followed it too. After around 20 minutes of driving, they saw it. Illuminating the starry night sky.

...or what's left of it. The further side of the bridge has already collapsed, leaving the residents clambering for space on the nearer side.

First off, Amazing composition! Personally I am really bad with composition of builds, I can never do something like this!
Love the tanks and the structures, Also the render looks amazing? (Do you know who did the render? I am looking for a render artist.)

Here are a couple of really small things that I find a teeny bit out of place.
1. Trees could definitively use a bit more work, especially the pine and that other one, definitively could use more shape, and the pine a bit taller and more shape, with the leaves maybe not as tightly packed.

2. Please fix the single slabbed sand, it doesn't really blend well, what would've been better is just make the line of slabs a little bit longer, that would make it look a lot better!

Otherwise amazing build amazing composition! I really hope you win :D

 

I don't know if this is just me, but shouldn't the top broken part of the bridge be hanging down more? Its kinda defying gravity without the other side of the bridge to keep it up? But then again this is Minecraft so idk ;3

Why does the way these houses are build like remind me of Ready Player One?
