Old Emeralds

So i was online and decided to go to my archer that i last played with in 2014 something and noticed and i had some old emeralds and i thought that because u cant get them anymore the are very collectable and i went to Detlas to sell them then a guy told me that i cant sell them for more than 1 e each that it was against the rules to do so.
I looked the in game rules and it sayd nowhere that i cant do so.
So am i allowed to sell them higher than what they originaly worth

 

you cant exchange them for more than their worth, but you can go to selchar and exchange old for new, last i checked

 

you cam also update the by either
1) going to the convertor merchant in selchar.
2) logging in on 1.7 and trading them with a banker.
3) go to identify an item and put all of your emeralds in.

 

Yea but to sell to players at even higher price i knew about those ways

The reason i made this thread was so i coud know if i coud make some good profit

 

Its illegal to sell vanilla items, and even if you could 1 old emerald=one new emerald, they are worth practically nothing

 

Ok i just wanted to know if i coud atleast i can keep them myself as collectables thx

 

some vanilla items are allowed (those that don't involve glitching/crafting) emeralds, emerald blocks, bottle o' experience, bottle, water bottle, bucket, raw fish.

 

So do old emeralds fall for those that i cant sell (probably not gonna sell anymore)
